Calling 'bullshot' on false game advertising

Aliens Colonial Marines showed trailers and 'live' gameplay demo's saying "This is 100% in-game footage". And also went on a campaign showing and talking about features that never where in the game.

What has Trion advertised or showed thats not in the game now? Or makes you think never will be?

What did they false advertise, damn the game is not finished till all the DLC comes out.

In the case of Gearbox pulling shyster crap like this again? The point is very valid. They won't be able to pull this nonsense with their next titles. Pitchford won't be walking around selling people on a lie. They won't be able to successfully sell pre-orders for another title that has impressions and review embargoes that only lift on release day. They definitely won't be able to thumb their noses at the customers they took for a ride and basically say to them, 'yeah we did that. So what?'
It also sends a message to any publisher that some crap will not be tolerated, and losing face as a company isn't going to hurt as much as having legal action taken against them for bad business practices.

More accurately I care more about the industry's survival and ability to produce good games than I do how much your sense of entitlement has been bruised.

So it's more about what *you* want, than what I want. Because you don't need video games to live right? Just food, shelter, and water. Anything beyond that, is merely fluff. So no matter how much you claim your intentions are "better" than mine, it is still naturally selfish and self serving.

As far as this potential lawsuit.....it is an MMO. Nothing was promised at release. As long as they implement their "promises" at some point then they should be fine.

They can show any footage they want. They just have to be crystal clear where said footage and other impressions are from. The onus is on the user to decide what level of involvement they want in following a games progression, and when, if ever they decide to opt in and purchase.

They already do have lawyers for just that purpose.

The only thing they said in a video that isn't in game is weather effects.
But sueing because it's not raining is laughable to say the least.
Things that aren't working will be fixed (I hope).
People complaining about content need to understand that as advertised, the game has a tie in with the tv show. Content releasing dates are probably already in place, giving us anything before said dates would spoil the show.

Good game, but a nauseating business model. How many games really need to charge this kind of money AFTER nailing you for $60? Not many, thankfully.
