With their vague words and vague videos, the game looks just the same as what they showed... they might of lied about the vehicles and weapons both being in the show and game and the weather effects.. but its the exact same game they have been showing.

3a. The next crossover is already announced.

1b. I ride in my friends car cause I'm to lazy to drive a lot, so strictly speaking this is met, though I can see how a single passenger(excluding the cerberus which only shows up in pvp and explosions 101) can feel somewhat lacking.

2b. The random synergies applied to weapons above a certain ego or rarity accounts for this.

3b. You did this one, it gives the impression, it does not promise. most likely them hedging their bets while they were attempting to to get x-box to even agree to aknowledge the idea.

The list seems to boil down to cosmetics and your impression that a game tied to a show would tackle all of its crossover content within the first two episodes(though notably the shows main characters do step from the episode missions straight into the show)
All words, advertisings and video images you can see here, have been taken directly from the early devs videos, words from their own mouths, and interviews. There is 9 full months of these videos and interviews. What has been said and shown regarding how the game would be and what would be in it "Before" they released it is all there, but never been implemented in the actual game.

No time to ride the line!

I paid $70 for the game because I wanted the hard copy from the store. I could have easily bought it for $60 through Steam or Origin. After about an hour of playing I loved the game that much I bought 5,200 Bits for $50 because I like a big inventory, I liked a certain Outfit and I knew there'd be more content released, like the 2 Nomad mounts which I bought both with my Bits. Then I saw someone running around with the red Ironman Outfit and searched for it and then upgraded to the Digital Deluxe edition for $40 just for that one Outfit, it seemed expensive but so what! I could get hit by a bus tomorrow! So $160 doesn't seem so bad when you've got killer busses driving around with your name on it

I guess my point is... Stop living for the past or future... and start LIVING TODAY!

Take the time to get familiarised with them 1st and i can also help you right here, by starting with this 1st one, there is other videos at Defiance Universe as well as other early interviews that were showed and made before players bought the game.

Defiance a Transmedia revolution Chapter 1.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ed7j3_xHxBw

In this particular video the developer is advertising the game having things that never was implemented in game:

1 - A real interactive weather system in game that will affect the players immersion dramatically and affecting the gameplay directly and the look of the game itself. 4:00 minutes

2- Vehicles advertised and presented as in game, the same ones as in the TV series 4:59 minutes

3- TV show and game constantly reinforced each other, and battles the players fight in game are changing the outcome of the TV show itself and events of the TV show imediately reflected in the game. 5:18 minutes

Defiance: What is a shooter mmo
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3b0X4YPUAE

1- Vehicles that players can use together as "Transports" in open world to use as resources gathering 1:48 minutes

2- "Thousands" of weapons, that we can collect 2:13 minutes

3- Allowing all platforms to play "simultaniously" inside one mmo universe 3:45 minutes
(Gives the impression for players that they will be able to all join and play together)

There are many other videos and interviews made from 9 months ago to 1 month ago before the game was released.
You can see many of them at DefianceUniverse on Youtube and other webpages and sites.
just number 3 is really the only thing game/tv show cross over. but there is a type of cross over that us gamers don't like

the Cerberus is crappy anyways, more pissed about the dirt bikes

there millions of guns just like borderlands there 14 of them but all the same stats (only thing change is ego level)

were all playing in the same world except ps3 unless they finally got the nerf patch where on different shards/phases inside of the shard
where they say it cross platform play?
weather systems would melt the xbox/ps3
    worker bees can leave
    even drones can fly away
the queen is their slave--Fight Club

Joshua: A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Not at all, listen and watch, read and understand.
Every single points here, never been implemented in game.
There is more than 9 months of videos, interviews made before the game was released.
Each and every of these points we are talking about here were presented as false advertising.
We are not talking about what is IN the game, but what is NOT in it
as pushed by Trion with ads and vids to collect pre-orders.

No time to ride the line!

lol, it would be funny to see someone try to do a class action lawsuit... just because the resulting youtube video of the fat gamer totally getting owned in court would be priceless.

Then as a business owner in publishing (including table top RPGs), and with international retail distribution and marketing, let me explain something to you: the industry is inhospitable to companies and small publishers who cannot, or simply do not, deliver on features that are advertised. If said feature is not done and ready to go, simply do not advertise it. Period. Same goes for our RPGs, whether through YouTube, Twitch, or Kickstarter video marketing. We do not reveal anything about the game that has not been developed, tested, approved, and which we know is going to be in the final version of the book.

And you know what? In my 10 years in that industry, I have never, not once, had a single customer, fan, or reviewer (even on the occasional bad reviews, as sometimes happens), accuse my company of not bringing to market the features we advertised.

Big, small, or in-between; video game, roleplaying game, collectible card game; the developers/manufacturers should be held accountable for providing every feature they advertise. If they don't, then any inhospitable environment that plagues them is of their own doing.

Successful law suits against Sega/Geabox or any other company does not make the industry inhospitable to indie and small developers. It simply sends the message of: the Consumer Protection Laws concerning advertising do apply to you as well.

Expecting the established laws against deceptive marketing to be enforced is not a sense of entitlement. That's a buzz-word phrase that too many people throw around today, without even remotely understanding the core definition of what it stands for.
