Whats up with Rescue kills?

Did this get broken or something, I have done about 7 - 10 pvp maps and gotten what should have been numerous rescue kills but the contract failed to update. One time someone in front of me, popped my teammate who didn't die, I popped them and killed them, no rescue kill for me.

Whats up with that. Also freight yard map still pop's up about 20% of the time when you select random map. You are forced to sit there for 10 minutes with nothing to do, can't even leave the map like normal. I didn't try to disconnect although I assume that could work.

It's hard enough to get echelon faction what with Capture and hold matches popping up every other day, but now we can't even complete the few contracts that should be completeable.

so anyone been able to get rescue kills since the patch. Maybe I just need to try harder?

I did about 20 games pre patch and got around 4 rescue kills, haven't tried today.

I've had this problem for days now. It seems to be random as to whether or not they think I saved my teammates. If someone is shooting at you and I drop what I'm doing to run over and splash them into a wall with a shotgun,it's not a rescue kill. But if I turn the corner and save your buddy from the cloaked guy camping in the corner who hasn't even started to fire his weapon,that counts as a rescue kill. It's so random for me that I've given up on trying to save people and now just run the halls of the Observatory map and chuck frags until it claims that I saved a teammate.

For rescue kill to register, I think the teammate you save has to have his shield dropped.

This sounds along the right lines.
I have "rescued" many team mates by killing the guy shooting at them, and not all of them register - which made me think that the team mates shield/health needs to be low enough to register a rescue kill.
Perhaps one of the mods can chime in and explain??
