Thread: Motherlode.

    Motherlode.

    I have a simple question.

    In the co op map motherlode, the final fight against motherlode himself, he sends an area attack out with his charged up hammer. Does the perk Blast Shield aid against this? Does this attack count as an "Explosive"? Which is what blast shield reduces the range of.

    you can actually avoid that attack by jumping before he lands it, i do it all the time...at 1st i didnt think you can avoid it ( think dykuso's area attack in explosives 101 ) but i learned if you time it just right you can actually avoid it by jumping over it, and i think blast shield only deals with grenade explosive damage

    Why onpy grenade explosives? Wouldnt you think it to work for rockets and such as well? Ive always assumed it works with this and the archers lobbing explosives. But hwy thanks anyways man. I did try jumping before i asked this and it actually didnt work for me. I jumped and the initial wave passed by but for some reason right after, i was still struck with it.

    cuz you 2 close! have some distance (or move behind him) + jump = u fine

    Although I wouldn't have said it exactly that way, keeping distance from the Motherlode is the best way to defeat him....that and an autolobber/overcharge Keeping distance increases the chance that he will charge and knock into the wall - temporarily stunning him and hunching him over. It is far easier and faster to take him out if everyone keeps their distance. Not exactly answering the OP, cause I haven't a clue...

    Basically anything that explodes. grenades, rockets, mines, etc... I don't think the motherlode's attack is an explosion though. It sends out these fireball like blue orbs kinda like the Matron's green mortar shots. Probably not considered explosions.

    i took him down with a completely modded wolfhoundHP6 orange on overcharge and keep distance.

    I think it it Electric if anything. It seems to be an electrical explosion of some sort, so I would go with a electric resistance shield. Not sure if the perk that protects from explosions works, only one way to find out.

    It is electric, and you can avoid this problem completely by not allowing him to charge up his weapon. During the fight he will move to the outer edge of the area and plug his hammer into a wall charger. If you shoot the charger enough it will explode, dealing damage to him AND preventing his weapon from getting electrified. I have beaten this co-op without him ever getting a chance to use that electrical attack. It does not take a lot of damage to the wall charger to do this either, just one player shooting at it with an automatic weapon usually is suficient.

    it looked more like a shockwave on the ground to me cuz he slams his hammer into the ground so thats why im thinking it is a shockwave, thats why i just jump whenever he does it, i try to make sure i hit the wall charger before he can charge up that darn thing lol...in my opinion i think he's the coolest looking boss
