Make sure you let your friends know they can check metacritic for a general critical overview on a game, and user comments on the major blogs are a good indicator too. These forums are relatively tame.

Gotta love metacritic. Actually saved me a few bucks at times.

The source doesn't really matter, its all just other peoples opinions, I like to form my own opinion, not have someone else tell me what to think. A good example, I love this game,but if I were to base my purchase off these forums or some bogus review then chances are I would not buy it right?

That's the base of the problem, to many people rely on listening to other people instead of trying it themselves. An "official" game reviewer is just as capable of being an idiot as the people on these forums, he just gets paid to do it.

And yes I said idiot, because a lot of the "problems" I see people complaining about, is nothing more than that person not understanding how the game works aka a noob. Like pvp being unbalanced because of cloak/shotty or a lack of progression because your weapons don't increase in damage by 10 million points every 5 levels. I stomp cloak/shotties~infectors on a daily basis and can consistently score 3-4x higher than everyone else on co-ops and arkfalls. People think they understand this game, but they really don't, then they try to chalk up their ignorance as actual fact and say the games broken and other people listen to them.

But w/e, people are not going to change their ignorant ways, whether its basing their decisions off others opinions, or being the next jerk off to post a smart a** remark on this thread. I don't know why I even bother on these forums

I love the fact that 10's of thousands are always online like me playing and loving the hell out of this game... while dozens sit on the forms and ***** and moan instead of simply enjoying it for what there is instead of what there isnt. people need to stop grinding and rushing the game and sit back and just enjoy... took me a month and many nights just to reach 500, and i dont even focus on pursuits or pvp and barely touch coop recently... but i love and enjoy every moment.

why? because i expected less and am happy with everything i see each day and love the open world and lore. plus its always fun to shoot ****. other mmo's felt boring cause you simply watched the same animation over and over... while this game you actually gotta interact and aim and what not...

so while i doubt any of the complainers will do anything but that... i ask that you simply enjoy the game or move on. these forums should be for good info, and not complaints... which a majority seem to be... plus its only a month old. and if that is not a good excuse to you, well it doesnt matter it is still one... so leave and come back in a year or never... up to you...

I for one am glad I do not pay per month... wasted a year paying for WoW, just to sit online for hours talking and making money while feeling completely bored... so bottom line I am happy with this purchase. Thank you Trion! and syfy for great show!

This is one of the buggiest games to come out in recent memory that I have ever played. Not to mention on PC it has one of the worst interfaces of all time. Those who blindly praise it are either paid to do so, don't play very many games or are the ones who contribute nothing at Arkfalls and Co-Op while just randomly spraying weapons and being generally moronic. Sure you can have some fun but unless you're blind you will encounter a pile of bugs. Hell the lag and phasing issues alone make me rage quit sometimes. While don't there all the time when it happens it is totally game breaking. The worst part is the devs hardly speak out officially about anything and can't seem to fix a damn thing in a timely manner. There is also hardly any content to keep people coming back and practically no end game other than generic grinding.

Actually. Ive seen more fact (note: logic) and proof from what you call.. the negative side.. than the positive.

All ive seen is mostly trash talking and name calling from the positive. Sure the negative has done a bit of that too, but not anywhere near as much as the positive.

Kinda interesting if you think on it.
