Did They Ninja Nerf Vehicles at Arkfalls?

I've already completed my Arkfall pursuits, so I have no way of checking this, but...

Today I have a Soleptor contract, "Pelts for Poseurs", which requires me to kill skitterlings in Marin. While driving between the main 5 vendors, I noticed that the skitterlings I run over on the road are not counting for the contract. If I hop off my hannibal and shoot them, the contract tolls as normal. So, did they make it so that vehicle kills no longer count as kills? Can anyone who hasn't finished the Arkfall pursuits (and thus still has a kill counter) check?
