It's possible that this may be a separate storyline, like in Borderlands DLC's. But I do think there should be a continuation for free players, but that may or may not be included in patch 1.020

So it's just like DLC for any other game, except they're actually giving people stuff for free? there will still be free storyline content additions, just not the DLC story which makes perfect sense. The way they were talking before was like they were going to give people the story for free and only give the paid people like a race change, some guns and an outfit. Now that would've been disappointing. The way the outlined their free and paid is quite fair.

Not for free since you had to buy the season pass but yes you will get access to everything without having to purchase anything else.

Free in the most technical sense, yes. You still paid for it, just at a discounted price for the bundle. If the DLC will be available in the marketplace/PS Store/whatever, make sure you take caution. Someone people tend to unknowingly repurchase content they already paid for.

It bothers me because it sounds very familiar to the comments made by the producer (at the time) of Star Trek Online, back when he basically broke the news to the community that they should be prepared to settle (because the game wasn't the hit they had hoped for). It was like the developers accepted they couldn't realistically aim for triple-A status, so the players should just sit back, enjoy the ride, and see where it goes.Some comments I’ve even enjoyed quite a lot and yet I’m happy that sentence never came up. It’s not us. We’ve been likened to a good <em>B-movie</em>, being about as deep as a bag of chips but great fun. As having issues, but always dragging you right back in for more … I have no problems with these, because we knew Defiance would be polarizing. We aren’t part of any mold, but we can always do better. Personally, I’d like to get to the two-bag of chip depth category or at least, add some salsas for various textures. We’ll be a party in your mouth before you know it. Your favorite B-movie.

Please tell me that is not the case here. Because I'm pretty sure when the idea of Defiance was being sold around, it wasn't being pitched as "your favorite B-movie".
I know how season passes usually work but was confused by the way the OP had been put so waned to make sure
The Store component is something we just learned about, and from what I gathered, won't be a part of the Season Pass, as they are just cosmetic items. Basically just updated store content, that you will pay for with Bits and will be accessible to free and paid DLC players.
