It was like the developers accepted they couldn't realistically aim for triple-A status, so the players should just sit back, enjoy the ride, and see where it goes.

    Yay?

Please tell me that is not the case here. Because I'm pretty sure when the idea of Defiance was being sold around, it wasn't being pitched as "your favorite B-movie".
It's better to accept what you are, and consistently try to improve upon that, than to sit around and think/act like you're something you're not. I understand your concerns, but I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

Er... what? If Trion is implying that they're settling on being something less than what they originally hoped to be, and this a sign that the resources aimed at continuing to develop Defiance are going to be substantially less than what was originally planned, then I would say we all have something to worry about.

There is admitting you're niche because your idea is aimed at a specific segment of the market, and then there's admitting you're not a success because you've dropped the ball repeatedly. Those are not the same things, and I'm pretty sure I've never heard Trion attempting to describe Defiance as "niche" in the months/years leading up to this. Actually, I believe they referred to Defiance as the next evolution in MMO gaming.

Demand cash off of you? WOW!!! This is one of the few games that are free to play ... granted it really is B2P.. but still.. no further commitments after buying the initial game... How can you say they are demanding anything? If they wanted to be jerks and really fail they could offer buy 2 win purchases in the bit store.. but they haven't and I don't expect them to anytime soon...

Now.. if this game was failing as very few of the vocal minority claim.... That would be a different story.. I'm loving the game.. I hope they grab all they cash they can as long as they continue being normal human beings creating something as awesome as Defiance for the general public....

Jesus christ you entitled pieces of scum.... They are making it so you can play with your friends regardless of wether your purchased the DLC or not.. That's basically a demo without being able to test out some of the key features (aka new weapons) but you still *****... you still complain like a monkey suddenly addicted to cigs....

Keep jumping around you ape... This game has not forced you to buy anything other than what was blatantly offered or made aware of via videos etc...

**** the haters Nathan/TRION... You guys are onto something magnificent... keep it coming.. you will be where you want to be eventually and have already done a damn fine job at its core as a shooter... Some people don't even realize the glass in the carpet that your kids could potentially walk into that you have combed over with the most finest of combs...

Some people don't understand your way of speaking.. again I say.. **** the haters and thank you for being a god damn human being that actually communicates with us low lifes expecting everything at every corner... Like their is some Genie able to pop out with Triple A titles...

If you all consider yourselves a "B" rated movie.. then I consider you all "The Tucker & Dale vs Evil" quality.... That movie was hilarious.. you guys are awesome.. **** this selfish/self-entitled bastards...

Let them go play some Nintendo and then come talk to me... However; Half the vocals on these forums would probably complain they "NEEEDED" a game Genie... When us real gamers just developed new strategies with our friends/class mates/ etc...

    ****ing Nubs
Life is a dream but fading away...

I tend to get pretty attached to my characters, so as a Ultimate Edition player with a season pass I strongly hope the "A unique Castithan version of an outfit" will be wearable by my ever so stalwart human character.

Pretty happy with Defiance so far, but that doesn't mean I am willing to give up features in upcoming content I hace already paid for.

No. Did you somehow miss the point in post #68 while quoting it in a later response?

Because the comment "We aren’t part of any mold, but we can always do better." was part of the comment I said sounded painfully familiar and disturbing.

Agreed. I was also puzzled by his choice of words. I mean, it's humorous and he's trying to be funny, but there's some truth in there.

This game could use more depth. I know it's mainly a shooter and not an actual MMORPG but there needs to be more depth to what we do for long term play. The DLC does seem to have some great content, though. I'm looking forward to seeing this Siege mode, Castithan Battle Arena with PvP dueling, and more story tie-ins.

The B-movie thing really threw me off. So your guys goal as a development team is to achieve status quo and maintain an average game? Not really making me motivated to play here. Why can't Defiance reach A and beyond status? Like you said this game has so much potential and it's doing something unique with the TV show which has been great so far.

Very odd that Access to New Pursuits and New Xbox and PS3 Trophies and Achievements would be DLC.

More stuff added to the game, more stuff to do. More stuff to do, more achievements to achieve.
