While the content that will be released in the patch sounds great, the distribution of "paid", "free", "shop" makes your DLC sound like a money grab. I will probably end up buying the DLC regardless, but still... here's my problem with this:

If I recall correctly, I remember reading one of the Trion people posting at one time that DLC paid = new races + other stuff and DLC free = main storyline content. It was said that you wouldn't have to buy the DLC to continue taking part in main content.


You guys are basically forcing anyone who wants to keep playing this game to fork out the cash for DLC.

There's absolutely no reason to play this game after the DLC comes out if you do not have access to the storyline content.
There's no open world PVP, there's no true progression as you level up, loot is a real crap shoot, even if you get an "orange" versus a "green" there's barely a difference, you can't buy weapons on the $$$ store, cosmetic items on the $$$ store cost ridiculous amounts of money and are not plentiful, and the list goes on and on.

Look, I paid $60 for the game. I like the concept of the game. I like the show. I even threw $50 on the cash store to support the game. You guys need to do a 180 and fix real issues before asking people to throw more money for a DLC that probably should have been included in the release to begin with.

The lack of content is staggering. Both playable storyline, and $$$ store. Don't even get me started on the "side missions"... that isn't content. That's doing the same thing 800 different times and calling the "mission" something else each time.

I'm a fan of this game, but the direction it keeps going in makes me wonder if I will even remember the game Defiance come 1 year from now.

I was a little disappointed with the mention of the cash-shop element. Up until now we had been told that the DLC would contain both paid content and free content. I took that to mean "pay for the DLC and receive everything". I didn't realize there would be free content, paid content, and pay some more in the shop content.
