And honestly, your point about Xbox games has what relevance? I purchased this game, billed as an MMO, for PC, and it's content is lacking. NW is free and has loads more content, and GW2 provides a ton more content for a similar model as this game. If you're willing to shell out a lot of money for Xbox games for little content, that's your problem.
To you console guys, this might seem like a great thing. To us PC MMO players, not so much.

Nevermind that the MMORPGs coined and started the entire graphical MMO industry. They set the precedence. Maybe it's something you console guys don't fully understand, but there are 15 years of MMO precedence set on what is expected. Trion marketed this as an MMO, and certain things are expected. DC Universe Online calls itself a Massive Multiplayer Online Action Game (not RPG) and yet has all the of the expected MMO industry features.

Trion using a shooter combat mechanic for Defiance does not excuse it, when it was categorized and sold in stores as an MMO. Again, even SOE's MMOAG, which is also multi-platform, didn't try to scam the customers on that end. And that's $OE for Christ's sake.

I think they are giving too much for free. You get maps, game modes, and even new weapons FREE.
I say give them access to the areas even the new arkfall, but make them pay for the rest. I did.

edit: I am sure this will get bashed.
So other people should miss content, in a content starved game, because you decided to pay for DLC you knew absolutely nothing about? Yea, ok. It's obvious that their plan is to keep as many people around as possible. After this nightmare of a launch, you do that providing as many incentives as possible. This isn't CoD. If Defiance received rave reviews, sold millions and had millions of players on multiple platforms, then maybe you would have a point. Besides, you're complaining about two maps and modes (for a below average mp component that's rapidly dying by the day) and a few new freaking weapons? Really?

Pretty much. We see Rift and we see Trion and then we see them advertising as an mmo and it's like "Okay, where's the jek is the mmo?" console players don't know any better and are usually the ones to jump at anyone's throat who posts something negative.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

In mangled English. With lazy gaps in reasoning. I do enjoy the dichotomy between much of the strong defenders/solid attackers on these boards.

That isn't to say all of the attackers write in beautiful prose. But it seems like the biggest defenders communicate like... well, like I'd expect to see spoken on Xbox Live.

yep pretty much. I paid you didnt you cant use my shiny new toy, but you can see me use it. That is how MMO content is supposed to work thats how they get you to buy. Its also how I get to feel special for a whole day till you cave and spend the $10.

this game should never have been launched on consoles EVER. Its like cutting a leg off and then trying to run a marathon, awkward.
So sad to see PC crippled so consoles can whine about the game
