The lack of content in the base game could be forgiven if the DLC content is acceptional. Having no subscription fee is a big deal and they deserve credit for this, it's a big risk. So i'd have no problem with pay dlc. My concern is that the dlc will be flat and bland. More concerning though, is the quite real possibility that the glitches will continue to make the game un playable. I have hope that it will get better but, I have no faith that it will.

what glitches make the game unplayable? I'm really curious, the only glitch I've seen was co-op missions but they have gotten 300% better since the game first launched, now I can enter them about 85% of the time. The enemyless Emergencies, yeah they suck but hardly make the game unplayable. The only thing that could be said of that the Ark Matrix that ate items... I haven't personally experienced this but imagine it would suck to get hit with

Imo no matter how good game is SP games that lasts 6-15h are never ever worth a 60$ especially nowdays as most doesnt have any re-playability. I dont even pirate SP games anymore as pretty much all are extremely boring due having more quick-time events and cutscenes compared to actualy gameplay.

Also to all those who screams more content, by content what do you actually mean? more missions,raids,larger map or what? because none has yet given any suggestions what content there should be, i personally dont really know what kind of activity there could even be in this game besides what we have atm. Raids kinda doesnt feel right for this game imo so what other things they could put in?

UM, CoD can be beat in less than 6 hours and it's always one of the hottest selling games...and it totally sucks! The story is too short and lacks any depth, and the multiplayer is full of cheaters.
I'm not sure why people are upset about having to pay for some DLC. With the free bi-weekly episode missions, new challenges on occasion, and some free DLC content there really is nothing to complain about. With all the Nomads I see driving around, I'm guessing a lot of the people posting on this thread have already spent more than the $60 for the game already. People spend 960 bits (roughly $13) for a vehicle that you will most likely be able to purchase with scrip later but yet when they tell you it will cost $10 for some DLC they get upset. You could have saved the money spent on the Nomad, bought the DLC, and still had a few more dollars in your pocket. Have you seen the amount of content that will be added? Not to mention patch 1.020 right around the corner which will hopefully fix a bunch of the current issues.

Bottom line is, if you aren't happy with the game you can stop playing it. If you don't feel like spending more money then you have the option of only downloading the free DLC. If you are bored because you claim there is a lack of things to do in the game then FFS stop taking time off of work to play. You don't have to be the first person to complete everything, or have a certain outfit or vehicle.

Well personally I would like to commit in-game crimes (rob banks, jack caravans, assassinate high priority target, you know the fun stuff) and then the more crime I commit the higher my bounty gets and then it turns into a bounty mission to come kill me.

EDIT: Basically, you do enough crime and you turn your pvp flag on.

Also multi vehicle races, I want to run people into obstacles and speed off to the win (of course this will happen to me, always).

Im pretty sure most only brought it due MP, and the reason why it sells so good is because it gives illusion to "not so good players" that they are awesome.

EDIT: Multi vehicle races sounds good and fits perfectly for this game, tho then Trion should add car collision for sabotage/ramming as passing trought opponets kinda kills whole race feeling.

Well you can already wreck the quads in shadow war, I have had a few head on collisions already. Racing isn't too far a stretch.

if you don't agree to that tactic, just don't buy. trion has to react accordingly if they want to keep selling dlc.

i personally never purchased dlc for any game. i won't start here either.

TL;DR (well, enough to want to point out a few things)

In comparing Neverwinter with Defiance, you're not only crossing genre's but you're also crossing their business models.

Just to point out, you spend $60 (maybe) on Defiance and get more game time out of it than a triple A title like Tomb Raider. Don't go saying there's not enough content and how angry you are that you have to pay a small amount like $10 to get a bunch of new DLC, not to mention that there is a lot of free stuff coming with the DLC as well.

And lastly, I've played Neverwinter, as I'm sure a lot of people here have. And you may get a good game for free, but the amount of actual cost in that game far exceeds what Defiance have put forth. Getting hit with $10 per extra bag purchase is just plain nasty (not to mention the plethora of other purchase only items they sting you with).
