Oh come on. You all wanted new content and info on the upcoming content. They've given you that, now you're complaining that you have to pay for it? Have you been living under a rock for the past 10 years? DLC always costs, one way or another. They need to eat for christs sake.

I've played the game for about 2 hours a day since its release--caveat: I'm a casual gamer--and I'm just now getting to the point where I feel like I'm grinding and might take a break. The new patch and the DLC announcement certainly got me happy and I look forward to it. Not once did I expect everything to be free. They said they wouldn't segregate players. This means map locations and game modes (duels, battle arenas, sieges). It doesn't mean added storylines.

So us "Freeloaders" are expected to drop more money into a game that hasn't lived up to the 60 quid i already spent on it just to play a few more story missions? After those missions we will be back in the same boat again with nothing to do, and before you say Arkfalls and the like, once you've done one you have done them all. That to me isn't Dlc.

Your Bioshock comparison is poor being that it's easily on of the best titles this gen and is recognized as such. Comparing lobster to spam does nothing to strengthen your argument. With multiple playthroughs, you can easily get somewhere near 30 hours out of Bioshock Infinite. With Defiance, in 30 hours, you can complete the main mission (which is insanely inferior in overall quality), do every co-op map, dabble in the below average rapidly dying pvp and experience every type of the forgettable sidequest. I have no idea what the length of Bioshock's dlc is or will be. However, I guarantee (like the original product) it will blow Defiance's add-on content out of the water in regards to quality and fun factor.

Okay. I had to laugh at this one. "pumped out as much free content as these guys?" are you trying to be funny? a few pursuits and rehashing old content does not equate to new content, sledge even said that they don't consider it new content.

Sadly this is the only person who really hit the nail on the head instead of bash the wood around it. What free content? I'm still getting stuff I PREPURCHASED finally filtering into my inventory. Literally .. today I got a few more items they missed the first 4 times around of giving me the stuff I was supposed to have on release.
this game is dying faster then GW2 that did essentially the same thing .. no real beta ... then disguise the beta as release and laugh at the idiots who don't realise they are never really going to work on the game.

After all .. if enough players are so stupid all you have to do is throw new stuff at them every few weeks to make them happy and keep them using their mommies credit card in your in game store.. who cares if real gamers are happy. You can make more short term off the idiots then you ever will long term off the real gamers. Yes this is now a trend. because people are stupid enough to fall for it. Personally after 3 fails on prepurchased games i'm simply not prepurchasing anymore.
I'll wait till release on single player games, download hacked edits to test game .. then buy it if its worth it. For MMO's i'll start using the "share accounts" that appear on the net a few days after a release. In fact if no share accounts appear in the first week then the games is usually worth getting into since they are from people who are so disgusted with the game they put up a web interface to their account so others can play it.
Why reward developers who don't do their job properly?
Because you WANT them to keep screwing you...

After all this is said .. just remember .. Real devs rarely have any say in the games anymore since their deadlined by corporations who couldn't care less about anything other then how much money they can make and how fast. The gaming industry is headed for a crash ... its already happened once and took 15+ years to recover.

Sadly I won't be around when it recovers this time.

all I hear is waaaa, waaaa, waaaa, I gotta pay extra money for extra content like every other game under the sun. This game should give me all the contents for free, pfft season pass holders paid 40 dollars, they should be happy to get the new alien race and that's it, everything else should be free for me because I paid 60 dollars and played 50 hours. I hated all 50 of those hours I played

I really can't stand this game, I keep on playing it hoping things will get better, but I just can't stand it anymore...

What it sounds like most people are saying, complaints about content in a game you played for I'll wager more than 20 hours. yeah ok, also Bioshock is a great game, but honestly you can beat the game completely in about 10 hours. You pay the same amount of money for BIoshock as you do for this game, only this game will continue to add content in, and ultimately you'll put in atleast 5 times the amount of time you'll put into Bioshock.

Oh it clearly was, lol. A game developed by bioware (well turned out to bw austin a trash b company of bw) and backed up by millions of dollars by ea and went f2p and sunk just as fast the titanic with in 6 months or less. About defiance, who can say? Let's hope it works out because the game is fun to play.

Disney just tapped EA/ Bioware to make ALL future star wars games

Disney accountants must have been impressed enough with the current profitability of SWTOR to do such. & SWTOR whatever issues it has is profitable, defiance has not been proven to be profitable yet

Whether it's a money grab or not, Trion told everyone straight up that DLC would cost money. Plus, in every other game, DLC costs money. I don't care what you think of their work so far, but they don't run a charity over there.
