Reset weapon mastery points - the possibilities

Why bother resetting the mastery, why not just allow us to keep building on the weapon getting minor upgrades with each level.....

Seems a bit more progressive rather than just wiping your progress for the sake of levelling your weapons skill...

While yes I'm glad I don't need to keep changing weapons to level up I still think it's a stupid solution.

Why not make weapons have 20 levels and grant small bonuses per level, dmg/reload/mag/acc/bloom/max ammo etc.

I like this idea. But I think Trion wants you to move onto other weapons so you have to open more lockboxes. There are some weapons I love to use because they have Level III mods and good bonuses, but only use them during arkfalls. It's pointless using them anywhere else as they gain me nothing.

OK, not sure why this thread was necro'd. But GrandmasterKEL, if you don't want a mod on a weapon, then you have to remove it. There is no mastery for mods. You remove them if you want to keep the gun, or retrieve them if you only want to keep the mod.

Normally, people yell at someone for creating a new thread where an old one already existed. But to the question, I think GrandmasterKEL is referring to the bonus you get from mastering a weapon.

I have a favorite rifle, I've mastered it several times, but keep getting the exact same mastery bonus. It is a pre patch rifle, so that might be it.

The Gladiator rifle we got via an Arkfall code a very....VERY long time ago.

I wish we could totally re roll weapons. Nothing worse than finally pulling an orange and having it be just ok. And it would be nice to roll prepatch items, I'm finding blues on the ground better than some of my old prized possessions. Or even if they just added rolls to put post patch stuff on par with current drops.
