Gamer girls are basically the girls that seperate themselves from other gamers, because they think being a girl that games is something unique. It can be considered unique, since there are more guys that play games than girls. Some girls love to take advantage of that for the mere fact that they know they can get alot of attention from guys. Those girls love the attention. This attention can be used in this example:
"Hi I'm a gamer girl and I love to play video games"
*Basically means they want everyone to know that they are a girl. This could come from attention or it could be the fact that they have been called a guy when they play, because some guys are stereotypical when it comes down to more guys playing games than girls and think that someone who plays on a girl character is a guy automatically. In my opinion, I view it as the first one more than the second one. Personally, I have been called a guy when playing a game, since I am a high level in that game or have expensive items. Some guys don't think a girl would put in so much gameplay.
I've been wanting to talk about this for sometime, but I didn't know when to bring it up. I thought I would now since a guy messaged me a good example. He told me that guys are suckers for gamer girls, and that us gamer girls are lucky lil things. It is true in a way. There are guys that love a girl that games, because those girls share a huge interest of theirs.
Some gamer girls are born from that attention.
In my opinion, there is no gender when it comes to gaming. A gamer is a gamer no matter what. I suppose I would rather use the term for "gamer girl" as "someone that games", because they do not deserve the title as gamer. It use to annoy me when I would come across a gamer girl, because in a way, they do give a bad name to girls that game. I also would get alot of hate, because I had more accomplished than they did, and I suppose they thought it would steal their attention away. I really do not care anymore. I actually feel bad for them.
I am curious to hear your opinions.
*I've seen it more with MMO's on the computer, but it could be different for Xbox. I suppose everyone has different experiences.
