Hard on equipment. (three words, not two with one of them hyphenated).

    Yeah, I admit it.
I kinda broke 2 (two) Logitech M510 mouse's's in the last week.
They were several months (24? 36?) old ::koff, koff:: so I don't feel too badly.

I bob-n-weave, swap to the SAW, 3-round bursts to snipe raiders and archers, swap back to CS-X and hold down the autofire....

You know how your car is already going as fast as it will with your foot to the floor, but you realize you're getting a cramp in your calf from pushing harder?

Well, you can't fire any faster, you can't aim any truer, no matter how hard you press them lil buttons.

    My old back-up M.S. mouses's just ain't cuttin' it.
My logitec Media Mouses, that I loved, never healed that 'point-bounce 1 click = 0 or 7 clicks' prob they had which had caused me to retire them in the first place... The 2 button M310 I use for my netbook is trying, it's just not able to shoulder the burden.

    tl;dr:
What mouse do you guys favor, and is there anything special it does?
Is there a particular mouse you guys have found that needs to be adjusted with hammers and prolly avoided?

    Looking for a wireless optical.
Upper price point will be at ~$100 USD, but you don't get extra points for just naming a $99.98 mouse.

    Thanks for suggestions/anecdotes/leads.

This is why I stopped playing space-flight sims. I went through so many joysticks it's nuts... Fortunately, these days I'm using a laser mouse, so minimal friction damage. Now if I could just go easier on the buttons... :P

I just recently (upon acquiring Defiance), broke my mX518... So right now I am using my backup Razor Blackdiamond.
Need to spring for a new one, but I can't get myself to spend 70-120 bucks for the one I want. :P

I still use my Saitek Cyborg Command Pad, from before the time Mad Catz bought 'em out, in this game. I couldn't play an FPS without it, and it's doing fine here.

I stopped following when M.C. orphaned my unit.

Thanks for the tips, I'm reading them now.

I love my Logitech G700. It's a fantastic mouse, lots of convenient buttons, now uses the logitech gaming software so easier to use, game specific profiles, and came with eneloop batteries.

Sounds like you're tougher on your mouse than I am, though I have had concerns about how I was beating on Mouse 1 for a bit in this game. You can train yourself to use a gentler touch, but it requires a period of focus and effort that can be a bit distracting from your games.

I use a Logitech G600 mouse with a Logitech G13 Gameboard. I used to use the Razer Naga, not a fan of it after a year and a half of use. In order for the Razer Naga to last, you need to treat it like a new born baby, every day of it's life, and it'll still break on you. The G600 is a fantastic replacement, totally built for some abuse.

+1 on Trackball. I use a Logitech marble. Nice use of thumb for look movement and I can use a stable wrist pad for support. Very sensitive (I use it for Photoshop as well).

This is my first foray into using my PC as a shooter. So I am also looking for a better game style keyboard than my Microsoft Natural Ergo Keyboard. The G13 looks great, but $60 just for a gaming controller is hard to spend.

Steel Series all the way for me. Paying nearly $100 for a mouse is worth it when you consider I would be replacing $50 Logitech mouses quarterly.
