Right now, I'm using a Mamba, which is the best wireless option IMO if you want wireless. Battery is so-so, but if you keep it in the charger when it's not in use it's not an issue(the wife, not me).

Death Adder is a sick deal right now if you're strapped for cash. It's a tried and true gaming mouse that has been around for years. Available in Optical and Laser. Comfortable.

Lachesis is a step up IMO on the Death Adder. Had my Lachesis for three+ years.

I started using gaming mice in about 04ish, and have gone through two Copperheads, Two Death Adders, a Lachesis, and am on a Mamba now. All the previous ones broke for one reason or another, the Lachesis **** the bed after a squeaking made me tear it apart and break it. Razer mice may not last long, but by the time they DO break, you're ready for something new anyway. I did have a $5 optical Logitech as my first mouse which my parents still use today for their home PC, but their gaming mice do not hold up as well as Razer(more expensive item which they make lot's of profit on, so the quality of ALL gaming mice degrades after a few months, and you replace every year or so).

Just my two cents. Hardcore Gamer? Go Razer, and not just for the name, they really are the ****. Better fit and finish and more comfortable.

Edit: I just want to add, the Death Adder is a SICK mouse. It was the most comfortable, and tracked better than anything I have used before and after, the only con is that it was too light for me, but that can be fixed with a mod. I played a lot of FPS back in the day, a lot of competitive CS:S and BF2, like top tier teams/competitions. I do not use my mice as hard now as I did back then, so I can not comment on the Mamba for quick/precise. For today's games, and especially Defiance, the Mamba is more than adequate.

I just bought an X Box 360 control pad because I really don't want to damage my mouse or keyboard. I figure 40 bucks for a controller compared to 60 or 80 for a mouse because I honestly don't wanna replace my stuff and I don't know if I can find a replacement. This game is probably the hardest I've seen on PC hardware in a long time, even when I played Half Life or Counterstrike I wasn't as hard on my stuff.

The game supports it and the controller works pretty well. It's a little bit of a learning curve since I've played games only on PC for the last 10 years and don't even own a console.

I run this game on an Alienware m18x and use a Microsoft Arc Touch mouse that I really like and can't find a replacement for if I break it.

I loved my naga, but I don't regret replacing it with a Logitech G600. It seems trivial that they added an extra "click" mouse button (to the right of right-click) on top of the mouse-numpad but it makes a world of difference in usability. It works especially well as a "sprint" button in gaming.

And you can make it change colors. Omigawd.

Lol...that's why I bought the Alienware laptop.

Just the flashing red or rainbow alert that the thing can be triggered to do when you're getting hit by something...OMFG!!! :P

I know right?! When you need to go faster you can make it red. Or when you need to be stealthy you dim the lights. It totally makes you better.

I don't have an Alienware laptop, but I can totally understand the lighting thing.

I'm using my old Mamba. I was using the SWTOR version of the Naga since Amazon had it on sale for like $40 one day, but it's total garbage. The radios in the base/mouse are constantly losing synch, making it useless for anything but keeping papers from blowing off my desk.

Teaching myself to use a G-13 for some things, but I haven't quite got the hang of the joystick yet. LOL

razor tiapan. well made high res laser mouse , only down side is its got a cord. I can safely say this mouse can take the pain.
I would also recomend the rocket fish mousing surface, accurate reads with the laser, no creap, made of aluminum, so it wont tear. dont bother with a high res mouse if your not useing a good surface

I use a Razer Naga Molten which I absolutely love. Some people complain about how it forms to the hand but for me its awesome.

For a keyboard I use a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard It's alright, i have an issue with the key combination mapping. Doesn't work so well with 3 button macros for example Shift+Space+W but it gets the job done at least. I do plan to switch this keyboard out but for what, I don't know yet.
