The real problem is the gaming industry and developers. Years ago we'd get game released and we'd all run down to the store to pick them up. They rarely if ever had a day 1 patch. That's a normality now a days. Back then the games would work. Of course they'd have a few bugs since most gaming was done on the PC. Now we have multiplatform development and all the UI junk that goes with it. Most games are made on console platforms then ported to PC. It's pretty established that ports to PC normally are horrible from a control, customization, and performance perspective. Now a days it feels like developers are constantly releasing unfinished games. The gaming industry is starting to feel the wrath of gamers now. Sega and Gearbox are in a class action lawsuit for bait and switch tactics as well as review embargo's until release to prevent buyers from assessing whether or not they want to preorder a game. Now Trion is in trouble and axing people left and right. One wouldn't tell someone that bought a new Camaro that it's supposed to have a V-8 in it but only has an I-4 under the hood. Don't worry it's coming soon after the purchase. Or buy a house with no roof even though it was advertised with a roof. Or a TV that won't connect to cable/fiber even though it says that it does on the box. Don't worry though the feature is coming or just wait for it isn't cutting it anymore. As consumers the gaming industry has been bending us over for the last 10 years on a regular basis. The EA model imho is the cause of it. Their greed has tainted the gaming industry as a whole. Charging for season passes and DLC is pretty underhanded. Especially when DLC is released a week or two into the game going gold. Sad to say but the gaming industry needs to have enforced standards for what they want to sell to consumers. We shouldn't have broken software sold to us then told to just wait until it's fixed so that we can use it the way it was designed. How long would you wait to complain and expect a fix if your Windows/PS3/360 update software wouldn't work after you installed it?
Take any other product or service that you paid hard earned ( for some of us ) money on that performs like this does and you'd be screaming bloody murder. "Oh, jeeze, you're brakes failed after that 500 buck job we did, bummer man, we feel for you!" "But hey give us a few more weeks, we'll get it." "Huh. you want your money back, you want us to fix your car for you, c'mon get real!" "You let Trion slide cuz they are tryin' really really hard, why can't you let us slide?"
Sound dumb? You bet it does, just like all you people that feel getting ripped off by a game company is cool and getting ripped off by anyone else is grounds for a lawsuit. ROFLMAO
