They traded to get those oranges most likely. I've only ever seen 2 oranges drop for me, a Heavy Assault Rifle and a Canker, both from tier4 boxes.

Both of my oranges came from Tier 3 box spam, but I'm not that concerned with orange gear.. TBH, I use a couple really nice blues, over the two oranges collecting dust in my inventory..
