For whatever reason I think orange gear can only be gotten from lockboxes... But the odds of mobs dropping loot has increased... So yes, lockboxes.

Kill mobs, breakdown trash to salvage and purchase keys ad infinitum.

That would be false, Legendary weapons can drop from anything that has a loot table.

I've killed more than 41.000 enemies so far and have yet to see an orange drop.

You should totally look at your drop rates, this is ridiculous.

Have to agree here with Sdric, im probably closer to 70k kills now then 50k that i beat more then a week ago and havent seen any Purples or Oranges as drops anywere. The occational purple from Arkfalls true (granade/shields) other than that no Purples or Oranges in any Co-Ops or open world so far.

Exept from the lockboxes.

If this is supposed to apply then you guys need to check your data if its applied correctly.

Yeah, i've killed so far like 60k enemies, and nothing than blues from the mobs.
Purples and Oranges from lockboxes ONLY so far.

The only places I have gotten something to drop above blue grade, are arkfall grenade/shield rewards, and lock boxes. Mobs only drop white-blue.
