Its amazing how sci-fi shows like firefly get the boot so fast, and then you have shows like Lexx that dragged on for 5 seasons. I hope defiance the show keeps going.
As you can see in this article http://www.escapistmagazine.com/arti...Visual-History. World of warcraft was released on Nov 23, 2004 and on Mar 17, 2005 Blizzard reported 1.5 million subscribers. Thats not Millions . Not to mention it was after 4 months. I was there at World of Warcraft release, it wasnt as great as everyone likes to remember. Im glad to see the Series and game do so well
1 million in 2013 is horrible for 3 platforms, and as far as wow, unlike most mmo nowdays, they actually grew in subs, WOW lost 1.3 million subs last quarter, wich is a lot, but still more than this game has to even lose, there down to a miserable 8 million sub, just horrible.

Second season of TV show, new tie-ins with the game, all great news!![]()
The biggest problem in computers, and in MMOs: PEBKAC
Actually they did NOT have a million their first month. I remember the announcement on the log in screen when they first hit a million. It was definitely not in the first month.
You also have to keep in mind that when WOW came out subscription games were generally frowned upon by the average players. These days a subscription fee (or charge for a premium account) is considered a part of gaming by most gamers.
Lot of people were pissed at Blizzard for charging a subscription fee simply because Diablo did not have one.
It is all about ratings dude. Soon as the ratings fall the show gets the axe. My opinion some shows get the axe too soon. Stargate Atlantis could have easily increased its ratings going into the next season. Same with Stargate Universe.
Lexx stayed on because it originally came from a premium channel which has crappy ratings anyways. Once it went to non-premium mainstream TV it did not last long.
Sometimes I think network officials are not very good at their jobs. Kinda funny sotry really. The person who was in charge when Power Rangers was bought was almost fired for buying such a "crappy low budget dubbed" TV show. Look how that turned out, lol.
