Atm it feels like big game companies have became at the end of their road, thanks to investors who are breathing on developers neck with deadlines and forcing them to rush stuff to markets(EA won ****tiest company in the world title 2 years in row and they really deserved it). I see idie games and kickstarter as an only hope to get actually good and working games nowdays.
You sound like the kind of person who should invest in Dark Souls.

.....that's not some uber-sarcastic metajoke, I'm serious. Dark Souls.

DS1 had crappy PC port but DS2 might be good but im not sure how the MP works in it, sure it sounds awesome but it all falls down to how it has been made for PC as i do not own console except PS2 :P

Might try "not so legal" version of it just to see how it works, but still MP part would stay as mystery because "Yarr! gimme ya gold" editions doesnt support online play :>

If nothing else atleast Trion knows how to make/use game engines properly.

    Dead serious.

Game doesnt lag at all nor it has any other performance issues atleast on PC, thats why i was pretty suprised when i entered in first Arkfall as i was excepting insange lagfest. Now i do not know if consoles have issues and if they do then im really sorry as nothing kills more enjoyment as poor performance, i even tweaked some graphical settings via nvidia inspector to get even prettier look and it didnt eat resources as i first tought.

^^ Xbox player here and no lag at all! It was the only major concern i´ve had after the beta lag fest! It runs very smooth even on a old console though!

What Trion should have done was use the current mmorpg format, wrapped around a shooter...

Apply the holy trinity that takes advantage of the mechanics..

    Keep the open world..

Keep the quest, side missions, emergencies, dailies, weeklies..

Re-do the co-op, install a loot system, install an actual loot system..

    Introduce meaningful crafting..

Meaningful weapons to compliment the shooters holy trinity...

    Use an actual death debt...
Careful, you might loose this fight, Anne Frankly why does everybody have to bring up the Nazis?

    As quoted by Justin CarMicheal

That's the thing-- they have the right philosophy, but they implemented it so poorly players can't see it. So they ask for other genres to get copy/pasted over.

Myess, we do tend to act all superior when our games cut graphical features such as rain, cloth simulation, and transparency to make it possible for the slower platforms to keep up.

Pretty graphics are just bonus and this game doesnt even look that bad, even today i play alot old NES and PS1 games on emulator and the looks doesnt bother me at all when game is good.

Tho it would be awesome if defiance install folder had .ini that we could modify for maximum eye-candy but im cool the way game looks atm.
