What IF the xbox 720/infinity isnt backward compatible?

I kind of hope they do put in a next gen version because the GFX on this one is so lacking compared to PC. A lot of our issues would probably clear up on modern hardware.

Having to pay for it again would suck so hopefully they have a way to update for those that got on early.

haha do you guys remember the n64 "expansion pack"? what if its like that where it will slightly enhance the current gens graphics a bit? would be pretty neat to see a side by side comparison of defiance on 360 and then on infinity where there is a greater viewing distance/less fog etc on the infinity.

Speak for yourself. I have two Xboxes. Will be getting one without trading anything in.

If there's no backwards compatibility, I'll need to grab an extra 360 or three. I have games I never played, and eventually this 360 will fail. I'll be looking for deals on the trade-ins...

It isn't BC just like the PS isn't BC. If the rumored specs which were pretty spot on for PS4 are to be believed it'll have a totally new chip set, which would make BC impossible. Although who knows, maybe MS will toss us gamers a bone. Seeing as some of the other rumors heading out lately suggest the opposite.
