Unless something is either wrong with your router or you have lots of interference the difference is minimal anymore, and probably barely noticeable if noticeable at all.
The problem is obviously not on my end.
I am wireless at home with no problems. More problems arise on my friends high speed network. Only because more people are on it. I have no problems because The only thing using internets when I play Defiance, is Defiance. Then sometimes I can even youtube to find data recorders and plays without problems. You may think that's nothing, but I'm connected at 0.05Mb/sec. It is quite a feat for my home connection to pull off such a maneuver.
I think in general a wired connectios is better but I myself play through wireless router with no issues
I am on an Xbox and I am one of the guys who had to join Live to play Defiance.
In the patch 11 era I got lots of un-stable games like Arkfalls where suddenly all the characters stood around, etc. I am in LA with AT&T Uverse fiber across the room from my Xbox. Hearing that it might be MY internet having issues, I removed the wireless adapter and ran Cat5 directly to the Uverse hub. I did this for a week and still had problem after problem.
I believe the problem is not Player-to-Live internet, but Live-to-Trion connection.
I went back to wireless and still had problems until about patch 14. Things are much better now and I am on wireless.
Spoke with a GM - deleting Defiance's cache will speed up the game (duh).
There is an automatic RWIN / MTU adjustment tool called CfosSpeed (don't remember URL). It's free for 30 days but you only really need it for a few days. Leave that running and continue using your connection as normal. It will calibrate , based on what you use, your line.
