The UI is fine. It's not a normal MMO UI and that maybe what has a few people upset. Think shooter![]()

I would compare it with windows 8 release it got just horrible reviews because it wasn't like every other windows version before it. But if you sit down with it and play around its really not that bad.
People have been complaining about the PC UI since forever. They've been very reluctant to do much to change the UI so that it's more functional for this platform. It definitely could be improved further, and several suggestions have been made, but nothing much has come out of the discussion.
Some of the things mentioned by players:
- Adding a system clock to the radar/map
- Adding the general zone location to the radar/map. There's a text box already in place that displays mini-zone information, but it's never used beyond that to show you where you are in the world (Mount Tam, Madera, Sausalito, etc...)
- Fixing keybinds so that we can unbind certain keys completely, rather than just swapping that function for another key.
- Fixing keybinds so that we can assign they key we want to a given function, without being forced to swap keys.
They've made some changes based on feedback, such as giving us more keybinds so we can get to specific functions/pages faster and altering the XP bar so it's easier to gauge progress, but they seem to be unwilling to do much else to better suit the PC platform.
I didn't find it bad at all. Maybe some people are calling it bad, because it's different than what they are used to.
Thanks guys for the feedback. I'm pretty open-minded and allow time to adjust before passing judgement, but there are still very few things purely out of principle that I usually cannot accept and one of that is using a push-to-hold wheel menu when a keyboard has over 100 keys available for use. It's just straight unnecessarily cumbersome and certainly a clear indicator, just like having a "Press Start" main screen, that developers paid minimum attention in adapting their game to the PC.
I was barely able to get through Mass Effect(s), and after tens of hours I just flat out couldn't continue fighting Skyrim's UI and I now utterly hate that game. I've yet to try SkyUI but after all these years of putting up with this PC-unfriendly industry, I'm at a point in my gaming life where I'm seething with hate for these deveopers that deliberately ruin the PC gaming experience by putting in less than minimal effort into it, yet still have the audacity to want to charge me the standard price.
I didn't hear about this game until last week on Steam, so I've only just signed up for beta but won't have it installed until tomorrow. I'm a patient guy so, as always, I'm going to keep an open mind and try to work with the allegedly PC-unfriendly UI and have a good time. I really do hope it works out and that it's tolerable for me. If not, I'll save $200 but be out of a game until another one comes around.
Well, the UI is perfectly usable, but its not exactly what we have come to expect from a pc game, or even an mmo. There are alot of improvements that would make the UI perfect, Im hoping they will improve upon it as time goes but I dont expect miracles before release.
I can live with the current UI for now, just release the damn game already![]()
