Except it doesn't,it seems to do the opposite of what it is ment to do.Same as the last free boost they gave us,i have had a visible increase of white gear over the weekend and lockboxes have been about 90% green with the other 10% being blue.I don't really care as it all gets scrapped or sold anyway but i get why people who are interested in the small differences would be upset at it not working properly.
When you go from hardly ever seeing white gear to getting a far amount and from getting about 4 purples a day (and the odd orange here & there) from lockboxes to getting none all weekend then something clearly isn't right. My arkfall rewards seem to be normal though. From many hours of play over the weekend i am seeing the same effect as last time, drop rate seems to be increased a little but the quality is decreased. And this time that decrease seems to be effecting lockboxes, unlike last time

I was expecting the synergy mod box to give something other than brutal and run-n-gun. I purchased nearly 20 caches all weekend and and kept getting the same two synergies. I skipped out on buying any tier boxes to see if I would catch a glimpse of hope of atleast a scavenger or something else. If you ask me, it's a junk system they got going. If I don't find anything other synergy mod by the end of the night, I'm hanging up this game until the other mods come into play.
Has anybody seen an assasin mod yet?
I must be playing the same game he is, because my white/green/blue loot seemed to increase, but purples and oranges are just as elusive as ever. I played a lot this weekend and bought a dozen or so tier 3 boxes and 4 tier 4 boxes. I got a boatload of mostly blue/green garbage, one nice purple AR and one orange Infector. Sorry, but to me that's about the way it's been since launch.
If Trion wanted to give us something to thank us for putting up with all the bugs and other BS since launch, this falls well short of the mark.
Also, IMO tier 4 lockboxes shouldn't give green items at all.
People don't understand that this just increases the drop chance of loot not rarity right? So, yes you will see more green and white drops.
As far as claims to the lockboxes, I can't comment on that except from my knowledge the bonus doesn't affect it.
How do people keep getting confused with this.
Bonus Loot Weekend: Players have an increased chance to earn rare loot items for participating in a variety of game activities that offer loot drops or when they unlock a lockbox during the scheduled time period. The loot categories are weapons, weapon mods, shields, and grenades.

When I first heard about the event, I thought we got increased chance across the board.
I soon realized I was just going to get a bunch of white/green which turned in about 90k worth of salvage.
Don't know where you got that information. All I can say is read the Dev Tracker where Sledge talks about it. I've always understood this to be drop chance not rarity. Not saying I can't be mistaken but from all the posts I would say my line of thought is supported.
Edit: Ok I saw in the thread that yes he uses the wording chance for rarer loot. I think that is misleading though. More loot dropping implies a higher chance to get better loot. I don't think it is an actual increase in rarity though. If it was supposed to be... Then I would say some coding is off
*tosses his bat in the bushes as he notices everyone looking at him beating the dead horse* Ah, it's the uhm...loot tables! The loot tables have had thier values corrupted! Sorry, I know the general consensus seems to be one of unrest due to the "failed"
Loot-a-palooza but, I was merely trying to break the tension and toss out a little humor. hahaha
