I tried a co-op map exactly one time prior to joining a clan. I ended up plopped down in a map devoid of any enemies or players and made my way to the boss exit and then entered where I was roundly slaughtered by a never ending stream of enemies. I had no idea until after I ended up leaving the match in utter confusion and frustration that the entire match was bugged. This experience soured me so much I almost got rid of my game; afterall co-op is the only thing to do after bearing the main story twice and PvP in this game is just terrible compared to other games.

But then I joined a large, active and mature clan and we did 2 co-op maps on the same day and I ended up getting 100% completion on both without feeling any pressure to do so; we just ran it. I've finally become a Defiance convert thanks to my clan experience and strongly urge players to find a good clan with experienced gamers. You'll definately have a better time with co-op.

i was able to solo the Matron (Final Boss) on "Island of the Lost Soldier" when everyone quit on me due to a bugged game. it was a pain and i died a couple of time because all the attention was on me. But i figured out if i kept one Hellbug Warrior alive and didnt run to the other side of the arena where to where the Hellbug Archers would spawn, i was golden.

They would have to tweak the loot system to make loot worth it, I normally go through it for the xp however.

If you or one of the other two are lucky enough to be the leader then just kick them a.s.a.p.

I did this a little while ago. O joined scrapworks and immediately 3 randoms with me went running up the hill to bypass to the final boss. I kicked all three. I then got a nasty message from one of them.

Five minutes later 2 of them joined back in. I rekicked and got another message. Im still laughing at them.

Conversely, the other day I and two friends joined a scrapworks (one friend just started the game) and the random forth went up the hill. He had lead, and as we didnt follow, he kicked all three of us. Needless to say we were all pissed and the newbie friend was put off at the game because of it.

Honestly, I dont care if people exploit the map. Do so to your hearts content, but get a damn group for it and quit ruining my game experience.

What if the rewards were scaled to the amount of damage you did and bonuses for revives, completing certain objectives in that coop mission, for healing, and a bonus for running the coop mission from start to finish. This would mean skipping battles, and enemies would result in worse loot at the end, but killing everything and being more thorough will result in better loot. That way people can rush it if they want poop loot, but will deteur them at the same time.

    they're missing the point...

Something is terribly wrong as more often than not i get to the end of the game and there are nearly always more than 4 players on the scoreboard.

    Heres why i think why....

Joining Bugs - these have been covered in oh so much detail i feel i dont need to cover them in detail here and is off-topic IMAO

Map Exploits - Ill get into a match be fighting away only to discover someone has run ahead through well known (by now) map glitches to the end boss exit. I get forced into empty slots of these games because some unlucky sot has encountered this behaviour or bugs in a previous game (and been forced out by the instance's results screen) or has left in frustration because A. they don't know the shortcut B, They dont want to play like that.

Contracts - so i've killed 20 dark matter forces in scrapworks now i can leave... wouldn't be so much of a problem if not for the above. Still I like to finish what ive started cos of results screen and that's the way i like to PLAY honorably.

A lot of people are complaining about the co-ops being broken when in my experience it is usually the players greed for easy keycodes (instigated by yet another developers greedy, dubiously random loot system).

Really, i ask you folks what is the point of keycode farming when Legendary items aren't that great (and need to be scrapped) and the game rewards balanced play of both pursuits xp and mission xp.

Just because there is an exploit or a glitch doesn't mean you should use it; you might just ruin someones day.

THERE IS SUCH A THING AS CYBERKARMA
COOPs are fun, but yes, I see some people seem to miss the real value of grinding COOP instances. Keycodes are crap, the real value is in the random equipment drops which you get (particularly if you have the right perks active). The equipment and salvage are the real reward. You simply cannot get enuff salvage in this game to keep up with modding high number weapons.

I'll admit it, I took the "high road" path on one map, and covered the team from above by sniping, more out of curiosity than anything else.

As for the knucklehedz that just run ahead blasting and get shot down so frequently as to be funny, they clearly just don't get the tactics of the game.

Salvage and loot drops > keycodes

Every other time i play scrapworks salvage co-op map someone skips to the end. People are doing it to level up faster i guess, but if you don't want to play the game then why be a high level?
