Once you start getting high ego the respark III and above shields start getting <3 seconds. Lowest I've seen is 2.65
I have a Respark IV 2.55 sec delay believe its ego is 280

Respark is a fast recharge? Color doesn't matter?
Respark would be considered medium recharge, but its fast enough (10, 40, and 70% are the most common shield recharge speeds).

    Color doesn't matter

I have a respark regenerator that I just can't seem to replace. Charge just over 1000, 40% recharge rate, 3 second delay and a 50% life regeneration. Paired with thick skinned I feel pretty tough but every now and then I'll still get lit up.

Respark is definitely a good all purpose shield.

There are some very nice abilities that are useable only when your shields are down though. Depending on how close to the edge you like to play, might want to hang on to any nice shield drops you get with longer delays

Anything with a faster recharge rate than Respark has a longer delay that more than offsets the difference. You should look at the combination of delay and rate when picking your shield.

If someone shoots you at 4 seconds after your shield breaks with a Respark, you have 40% shield. If someone shoots you at 4 seconds with a Tachyon or Hurricane, you have no shields, so that faster recharge rate isn't doing you any good. By the time you hit the 6 second delay to start recharging one of those, the Respark has already completely recharged.

I just checked last night and currently have a Respark Regenerator II D
    1087 Capacity, 40% Recharge/Sec
3 second Recharge Delay and has +25% HP regeneration
I have heard of some that have over +60 HP regeneration, just have not found any yet
