I really liked this episode, the triangle of love between Nolan, Amanda and Kenya is going to be interesting! Rynn shocked me when she came to the aid in the end and it's about time that Irissa and Tommy hook up. I can't wait for Nolan's reaction when he learns his deputy is knocking his daughters boots around! I hope it's the same episode where he learns that Kenya has been knocking boots with Datak.

As for the eRep lady. I think she was working under eRep orders to jack the money. They seem to be playing eRep as 100% corrupt (even though they aren't) and so it was likely something that they would do. Jack the money and force Defiance to have to take the eRep loan to get the trains in.

But yeah, I totally got excited when I heard the first song, referring to San Fran.

I'm pretty sure "that eRep lady" is the Ambassador and that's not common knowledge. I'll be honest though I'm not 100 % clear on some of these factions and their internal structure.

Not really sure I like using the site as a source for canon since it doesn't really make a lot of sense sometimes.

I would agree that it would have made more sense to have the religion be Votan in origin but then evolve terrestrial snakes. But I don't think a lot of thought is going into the back story.
Sadly the lack of in-show back story is the biggest complaint from my sci-fi watching non-gaming friends.

They are still trying to figure out how/why the votan arks were destroyed in orbit. let alone the relationship of the different races.

Pair that with our in-game tie in, the new "rogue e-rep" bad-guys. I am betting she is unsanctioned in her actions.

One of those do this but if you get caught your on your own deals is my guys. The reason I'm thinking is because after she was put on the transfer to go to prison she was freed as if nothing happened. eRep will likely "kill" her off after a certain period to keep up appearances while she keeps working in the background.

As for the rogue eRep in game, I think they are more towards the group from next weeks episode.

The characters can't explain what they don't know. The cause of the arks' destruction is unknown. I think I remember Irisa mentioning that the cause was unknown when she was narrating her vision of the arks' destruction at the start of the pilot episode. In any case, it's confirmed on the official site.

"January 5, 2030 At the height of the Pale Wars, when worldwide conflict is at its worst, the entire Votan fleet suddenly and mysteriously explodes in orbit. This event becomes known as ARKFALL. Fragments of these Arks will continue to rain down upon the planet for decades."

(My expectation is that the cause will be revealed at some point, and will be an important part of a major story arc. The two most likely options, in my opinion, are that a faction within the VC engineered the destruction of the arks to ensure that the war would be fought to the end once retreat was no longer an option, or that Von Bach had a hand in it as part of a weapons program that was kept secret afterward because of the widespread devastation caused by the activation of the terraforming devices during the arkfall that followed.)

But then that really doesn't fly with what was said in the show about Irisa's parents being recruited for the religion before they left the Votan system.
I thought they were recruited because of Irisa. The Votans arrived 33 years ago, so if Irisa was alive when they were recruited, it happened here.

Both have red hair. Just sayin'. :P
death and womb - we know there's a "world changing" event at the end of the season. enter re-terraforming device re-birthing the planet, spawned by irisa. we'll see in a few weeks
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

I think Von Bach created the weapons that took them out. When the EMC denied the Votans from landing on Earth, they decided to fire up their terraformers and go in anyways. So the war started and KVB made weapons probably that did it. Not 100%.

As for the Votan races, their solar system got destroyed so they went looking for a new home. The Indogens made the arks. The other races tagged along. The Volge I think were left behind but somehow followed maybe?
