Just disagreeing with the "Farming is not something developers intend for you to do." idea when it comes to mmo's.
I can't see a mmo that doesn't enable people to grind and farm. Mmo's are all about putting in a lot of effort to slowly gain levels, gear, rep, skills, tradeskill items, etc, etc.
This always means repetitive gameplay including raids, daily/repeteable quests/missions, farming mobs for loot and/or xp and so on.
Mmo=grinding+farming.
Edit: Mmo with rpg elements that is. Could ofc have mass shooter just about shooting to which this doesn't apply. Where it comes to leveling up, finding gear, developing skill trees etc it does tho.
i liked to wait for the boss before i participate, then when they got about 10% go to the next one before it finishes. cant do that anymore i guess. which sucks since pretty much the only way to get good gear is from lock boxes, now it takes all freaking day just to get one lvl 4 box, which usually only gives blue items. the work is not worth the reward. they need some way to farm keys.
so you were exploiting game mechanics to unfairly gain rewards you did not earn per the standard game mechanics and its intended spirit?
you DO know that in most games or MMOs exploiting game mechanics would earn you a permanent ban right?
people who aimbot in counterstrike are exploiting shot mechanics being handled client side, but thats ok right?
people who wallhack in counterstrike are exploiting rendering mechanics and that the player is always receiving positioning data, but thats ok right?
if you exploit game mechanics, do not be suprised if you get banned. if they fix the game mechanics, be thankful they took that route rather than others.
after all, if trion really wanted to be greedy, they would ban your account and hope you buy the game again.
This is good news. Shouldn't get stuff you don't earn.
Here's the thing, the people complaining about this fix are not even grinding. They are just exploiting the way rewards and participation are handled. Progressively lower experience, cut off timers, slower health regen - those are anti grinding measures. Preventing someone from tagging an enemy and running away to do something else is a fairness measure. If person A does 1 mil in damage and you do 1 damage why should you be rewarded? By any measure you did jack squat.

There is no nerf to this strategy. I do it because I've been cheated out of arkfall completions more times than I can count. If the game is going to screw you, well then, screw it back.
They MAY have fixed this exploit, or it may just be the game is buggier than ever now in regards to arkfalls.
I was considering posting about arkfalls as it seems today they are way out of wack.
For example, I have been playing all day on and off and out of the 20 or so arkfalls (or more i cant recall) a great deal of them (like 1/4 to 1/3rd of them) were bugged out. Mostly the destroy the crystal ones, on one of the minors you would destroy the crystal and skitterlings would just keep spawning and the minor would not complete until the event timed out.
Sitting at 3652 ego and its one of the last few things to do in this game and geez, seems like most of the time now its not even worth the aggravation of trying.
