Higher EGO = more worthless items?

No i'm not talking about missing mod slots after 2000 and yes I know they start to have more bonus properties and more powerful mods/property start to appear.

The particular grip I have with the current system is that high EGO players get less and less peers they can trade/give items. Also, the ark salvage needed to mod weapons increase drastically at higher EGO while the ark salvage income remains constant. These disadvantages far outweigh any minor improves they can possibly have for been high EGO.

In most MMORPGs, a high level person would be able to give hand-me-downs to friends or guildmates or support in terms of gold/mats because they have a higher income. They will be able to support/nurture the newbies of the guild and make their levelling faster or easier. I totally don't see anything like that in this game at all.

I believe item requirements should be removed and mod costs should be a constant flat value. That will mean higher ego drops are directly more useful and worth trading or giving away. Newbies can enjoy better gear from high levels and high level players have a bigger market for their wares and they can contribute to the guild's armoury.

    Don't forget.

    - More perk slots
    - Higher max/min damage of frag grenades
    - Higher capacity shields
    - You bigger your EGO, the better you look

I do agree though that their should be some kind of a level range towards giving your level stuff to lower level friends, but some kind of a system would need to be put in to balance that I believe. Maybe salvage/scrip needed to be used in order to expand the level range, etc.

I agree that would be nice, But at this point(Around EGO 2300+) I find myself ark salvaging 99% of what I find, some of it is due to the fact all my buddies are 1000+ EGO behind me, But the main reason is to buy keys, to buy lockboxes, to possibly find better items(99% becomes ark salvage also). But when I do find a better item, if my replaced item is low enough EGO for my friends, I gladly offer it to whomever wants it.

it's like KUM BY YAH "the circle of life" or err ITEMS...

Yes, i'm not denying that higher EGO has its perks.

However from an item "worth" kind of view, the items you find are valued less and less because the market for it shrinks. Basically higher EGOs like 3000+ onwards start having problems trading or sell items. You probably can't give away 5000 EGO stuff because no one else can equip them and nobody is silly enough to let it sit in their inventories for until next year.

Maybe trion should change gear to tiers instead to relieve this issue. I thought the price scaling with anything to do with mods was so brokenly absurd that gaining more ego was more of a hassle and the rewards were worth.

If the game lasts (who knows? People are funny like that) Then in a year or two, nOObs will point at us old timers and say "I can't wait til *I* get a cool Orange Epic SAW that slices DM shields in twain like that guy has...".

I know that feeling. I m at 3350EGO and havent found a single weapon as good as the rifle I found at 1900 Ego... Plus: the green items in the shops actually have become worse.

The only thing I use dropps for is Ark salvage.
At a coat point of 99.800 AS for a single freaking mod slot.

Every men has a big ego - why do you want to get rid of it?! Are you conspiring with ... women?!

I hope you not Just keep leveling.
The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving on.

I am around 1k EGO behind you and my cost is 66k AS, It sucks that its 100,000 ark salvage to add a single weapon mod slot!

I am not looking forward to that, I recently got 4 orange weapons from T4 boxes and burned thru over 600,000 AS on adding weapon mod slots, and still was not able to add all the weapons mod slots...

BTW; The cost to add a MOD slot to a weapon is based on the EGO level of the weapon, and not the players current EGO level, just FYI if you didn't already know...
