Thanks for the reply. You just helped me retire this game.

    Grind smarter, not harder.

Actually, depending on macro vs. micro view... it is everything changes vs. nothing changes.

I 100% agree that if you are going to grind, then do it smart... but why do it at all? I mean if you enjoyed all of it, than great... I myself do work towards certain goals/rewards, but only the stuff I enjoy. It seems you killed possibly too much time to point where you would get sick of playing games period... not just Defiance.

I think in one of the posts I read you felt your eyes were bleeding from having "grinded" too much that day. It seems kind of self-destructive. But if that is what you enjoy than it is fine.

    I am both
    * In awe that you managed to grind through every pursuit in the game
    * Confused that you would bother doing that

I do appreciate your community participation and answering questions from your experience... I hope you stick around or come back whenever new content is there or DLC releases. Hopefully those things will be fun to experience and feel fresh and enjoyable.

what is in your opinion, the fastest way to lvl once your have done majority of the pursuits and maxed all your weapon xp?
The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes.

At a point the only real "goal" of the game I had left was to be first to get to 5,000. Which was a bit odd as there were others with higher EGO levels than me by quite a lot, and I didn't consider it till I hit about ego 4,000. However I found out that those people needed pursuits that they could not grind (dailies and faction stuff)

For raw EXP, you have three options.

    1. Run mine 99 (the mission, not the co-op). It's been nerfed, but grinding it will still give a decent/constant amount of EXP.

    2. Do SMASH or the hellbug/minigun trials over and over.

    3. Do emergencies and arkfalls. Do the emergencies when no arkfalls are up, certain ones are very quick and can reward 4,000+ exp such as "A new pair of genes" (Use a ground pounder on the Monarch and this emergency is over in 10 seconds) and "99'er Roadblock" (Kill about 6 99'ers and it's over). When doing arkfalls, you want to land killshots on the bosses, which alone can reward up to 16,700 exp, on top of the 7,000 or so for participating, you also get the keycodes and two random nade/shields. If you do "Revolting hellbugs" only tag it and move on, the Hellion boss does not reward killshot EXP or bonus salvage/scrip like the other bosses do, it is also the longest major arkfall.

What are your perks of choice for survival or general PvE? I feel like most of them are too conditional to make full use of.. Thick Skin is pretty boss but it could be a long 15 seconds before the next one.. And percentage reductions seem weak unless you pile them up.

So for survival I only found use in Thick Skin, fortitude, and for a weaker mob area the one that negates dmg after a kill... Otherwise I tend to just use crit+ perks, intimidation, or prepardness..

This is what I currently use. Don't put too much emphasis on it though, there are not any perks that are majorly game changing.
