    The Defiance service is not available...

    NA/PC Ok, so heres my issue.

    I can access the patcher just fine. Once the game starts loading and gets past the splash screens, it tries to pull up the character select screen, but ends up telling me The Defiance service is not available, please try again later.

    I can switch from US to Europe and it loads everything just fine (games playable that way).
    I contacted Livechat, and that was very unhelpful.

    Would anyone happen to have some suggestions?

    Day three now.
    Have tried everything on the support page and then some.
    Deleted Patcher.logs repeatedly.
    Verified that yes, i am on the US servers...
    Checked router ports.
    Uninstalled and did a fresh re-install.
    Ran as admin.
    disabled my firewall, even though Defiance was listed as a safe program.
    Reset my modem/router.

    Livechat has been very unhelpful. The only real answer given was " The servers are online and running so most people are experiencing no login issues." -GM Fasti

    Sidenote- There was no changes to my comp in any way before this started up.

    Maybe I should keep up a daily blog on this, and link it in a few review sites, if this shtako continues.

    Day Four.
    I've talked to GM Hruska today. He took the time to actually listen to the problem. He provided a few suggestions. Although in the end, none worked, I felt that Hruska was the first person who actually paid attention to the problem and not just copy/paste-dismiss me. Thank you Hruska.
    Adding to the list of attempted fixes.
    Disabled background services
    Restored computer to a week ago
    Changed Network DNS settings
    (if I remember others, I'll edit them in)

    I realize I could just do play on the european servers, but besides the lag issues for me, It's not that simple. I have alot invested into my character. Time, money, and emotional- the thrill of finishing a pain in the butt pursuit, my guild and friends, the one-time content, having beat Nim twice now... you get the idea. This is not some throw-away toon.

    I am a fan. A big fan. Of both the game and show. I've bragged and gotten friends to buy and play this game. I've stood by your side through the bugs and shtako, saying give the game time...it'll only get better and better. I want to play your game. I want to play my avatar, my creation in the world you've created. Now... when I see my friends and they ask if I'm able to hop on and play with them yet, I Feel Shame.

    I ran into the same issue tonight. I put a new cable modem and I can't even get to the character screen.

    Day 5 (almost midnight my time)

    No real response from Support except for an email stating that since I have multiple tickets involving the same issue, they are closing out two of them.

    I deleted Defiances entries in my registries, as per a Gm suggestion from yesterday. Nothing.

    Day 6.

    Again, only response was an email stating that another ticket has been closed. On one hand, I understand its the weekend, but on the other, Livechat support is available, and Someone did close and email me about that ticket.

    Hoping tomorrows patch will fix things.
