Why am I being forced to download this game twice?
I downloaded the game from steam using a beta invite from a friend. We all agreed to have one person buy it, and then when codes were given out, we could all decide if we wanted it. Got the code, spent the 2 hours downloading it, can't connect.
Get on the website, follow some directions, now i am being asked to download the ****ing game all over. Why?
Why the **** can't we just connect using what we downloaded?

Guessing this is one of those forums where answers dont exist. I understand a BETA launch gets crazy and things don't work, but good companies bother to mention WTF is going on. I'm seeing reports all over the place of login issues and nothing in a reply.
How am I supposed to validate giving the company money if issues and appear and we have no idea what to do to fix it?

As I tell my dad all the time: Sometimes things just don't work, for no apparent reason.
I've read stories of people who had to download at least 10 times, so your not anywhere near being so pissed off. I understand its frustrating but coming here and swearing won't solve a thing, it would mostly get you ignored/banned.
I recommend contracting Trion support, remembering that there are MANY people with the same problem so it may take some time for them to get back to you. When you contact them give them as much info as you can.

Here is the thing, when you have a known problem affecting many many people, responding with "contact support" is a ********, ineffective, and very off-putting way of dealing with it.
A simple post on the front page of the defiance site, the patcher, or hell, maybe on Steam where many many downloads are coming from, with instructions on the beta would solve the majority of the issues. The way its being handled is friggin disgraceful.
There isnt even a post on the forums for christ sake. It's a lack of communication that pisses me off. I have no interest in downloading the damn game again and it makes me seriously question worth of the final product. So I don't really care how many times other people have had to download it. If it's a problem it should be addressed in communication. "call tech support" works real well when you get some ******* that can't speak your language for **** and just makes things worse.
Post the fix somewhere christ.

After countless beta's for games, interactions with various companies, I dont care anymore. Professionalism hasnt worked, following thier procedures hasnt worked, the only thing to get a response is cold, direct, anger. Very very few companies care enough to speak with their communities.
All I asked for was communication. Is that too much to ask?
Why does a massive playerbase have to "contact tech support" when a forum post can fix the major issues? Why do we have to jump through hoops when simple responses can prevent the overflow of calls? Why should customers sit on the phone for hours to get run around in circles and be forced to demand managers to get any information?

LOL my man I have been patching for over 5 hours and I am still patching, everytime I think is over it disconnects my PC from the internet and I have to restart all over again.

Check the steam discussions for the game. I remember seeing a couple fixes to this issue.

Make sure you are running the game client with "Run as Administrator" selected. It doesn't fix all issues but it may help.

You really expect someone from Trion or a mod to have come back to you that quickly?
