Kudos MrRotten, well written first post, long one, but I enjoyed reading through it.

Hm, I wanted to write much more, but upon second thought, you pretty much said it all already.
Anyway, I think both game and show can still succeed, despite the rough start both are having.
Some things grow slowly, I hope Defiance is one of them.

Welcome to the other side. Be forewarned, Now that you were critical about this, the next time you post something critical about other parts of the game, expect to be branded a troll for your efforts. Just how this forum rolls.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Thank you sir!

I agree, I'm still holding onto my hope!

I hope not, I tried hard to keep the negative tone down, but heck...

If speaking the truth with cold hard facts is deemed bad round here, then I guess I'll be bad. LOL

Great post and I agree 100%. I'm on the "taking a break" part now. I'm in the 1650's. I needed a break because I see it as a grind right now as well.

The reason I posted is because I like it too much and I'm growing concerned...

I do see your point though, I guess maybe I'm weird...

If I hate the game, I leave, don't troll the forums and waste my time.

    Maybe I'm old school? LOL
First of all great post MrRotten. I've been playing since day 1 and like you and many other arkhunters, sees the potential that Defiance has.

I love the concept and gameplay, but i'm starting to lose my urge to play and all i did for the past week has been loggin in to do my daiies and log out after that.

With the wonky clan features Trion is losing alot of revenue, for example, the clan i'm in are all working adults with the ability to purchase clan boost and such and have no problem with buying Bits. But due to all the wonky clan problems, we have decided not to make any purchase until the problem is fixed. I'm sure we'r not the only person who's doing that, so the problem of not fixing it is infact causing them to lose revenue.

I personally am not interested in hearing 'I'm sorry' constantly. If that happen more than 3 times, to me that means you are not learning from your mistakes. By that time i would appreciate it a lot to be informed of the pipeline of fixes in line for the patch with nothing left out(Ninja stuff).

Like alot of players in the forum, all we want is to see the game achieve or close to the potential it presents. Was actually really glad when the Rogue E-Rep guys were put into the game and the mission is slightly tougher.

LMBO!!! Sorry, props for the Forum Picture...

Now onto the proper reply... hehe

    Well said!!!

I eluded to the fact too that I'm kinda tired of the Dev Blogs telling us how sorry they are, and how empathetic and understanding they are to our frustration and the empty promises.

Don't get me wrong, the first 2 or 3 times I read the Dev Blogs and they empathized with us, I appreciated it...

But now it's time to see results, until then I've grown tired of reading it and just look at them now as hot air and empty promises to try and distract us from the issues...

Not trying to be mean, but yes, I think we've all waited long enough to see real patches and the REAL issues that have been plaguing this game since day 1 fixed.

Like you, I did enjoy the Episode Mission, I didn't think it was so much a lack of effort like alot feel... If you think of it, the game is in it's early stages just like the show, between the Show and the Game and visa versa, they are still working Character Developments... I like the Rynn content as long as they're going to build on it. Data Recorders are meh, but if they're planning to build on the missions more, then I'm ok with the bland missions to setup more stuff later.

The difficulty of the Solo Map was a pleasant surprise, more like that would be ideal...

To build on Episode Missions more, I would like to see an initial Episode Mission or like an Origin Mission on each of the big name characters... For example:

    Rynn Content we got...
Nolan Missions... ---> EDIT: Maybe back when he was a soldier and rescued Irisa?
Irisa Missions... ---> EDIT: Dealing with her people and the origin of her ability?
    and others...
Then connect them like the Show is doing...

They can be short, Data Recorder(ish) at first, but then blend them together into deeper Episode Missions.

Just like the show, it started off a bit slow and bland borderline boring character introductions and all, and it's already picked up quite of bit.

When we get our DLC and the Main Mission gets expanded on, I don't expect it to be bland at all, stuff got real by the end of our Main Mission line... It better get even realer! HAHA

...just a few more cents worth

I did the Deluxe Edition mostly for the 30 days worth of boosts, I did the Season Pass when I heard about the DLC1 information, which now with the latest patch being postponed, I'm assuming DLC1 is being pushed back too.

So at this point I want to be with this game for the long haul, so I've been careful to allocate my time and not burn myself out.

I'm happy to report I haven't been burnt out yet, just overly disappointed as I've outlined...

I am enjoying the Show greatly, I don't know I can say I'm enjoying it more then the game, but atleast the show doesn't have bugs... Like me having to stop the show and restart it cuz it freezes or something silly like that. LOL

I also agree that TRION has a product with amazing potential... Even more potential then say a future game called DESTINY. Believe it!!! But I think lack of information and lack of good execution/support has killed the potential. The game was a perfect medium for a crossover product that could of done nothing but grown had the released it all better... Meh, what do I know, I'm just a gamer, I play them, don't develop them. I'm first to admit that...

You're right, there has been some semblance of information, but not at first...

More and more cried about information, and we have now finally started getting the Patch Notes and even it's on the Console now at boot up.

However; I don't know, I still feel like there is a lack of information for the future.

The information we're getting I feel is so small, or it's to distract us from the real issues...

Like "yea we fixed shotguns" but we broke them from another patch...

It's like they're listing all these things they're fixing to take away and distract us from THE REAL issues of the game...

I've listed them a few times at this point, won't re-list them.

The other thing I'm growing tired of reading is the DEV Blogs that are constantly reiterating how hard they're working, how deeply sorry they are, and how pithy they are about our frustration and how they can relate to us... We get it, you recognize that you're customers aren't happy and there are issues. Enough recognizing this stuff, let's hear about how you're going to address the issues instead of talking about the issues themselves and telling us how frustrated you guys are as well. We get it...

It's stuff like that where I need to know more... more pertinent information, less BS.

This latest patch is postponed... Why?

How does that affect the other information we've gotten like the big game update and the upcoming DLC1?

We talking 1 month more... 2 months more??

You're right they've provided some info, but I feel it's more of a smokescreen from the real information that we are all needing... the ones staying loyal and trying to stay patient that have put in alot of game hours, there's big things that alot of us are looking for with regards to information.

I feel like I'm hanging onto this game for dear life, by a very very thin thread at this point....

This patch postponing is def the big thing that has raised my level of concern to the boiling point....
The latest patch. 1.016, was delayed four days... from 16 May to 20 May. THAT raised your concern to the boiling point? Take some time away from the game or, perhaps more important, from these forums and get some perspective?

I think a better idiom would have been "the straw that broke the camel's back."

Nothing by itself. Just the... last straw.

    Hyuck.

We found out the Patch was being released after I wrote this...

    Facts sir... Facts...

Fact is I was growing concerned prior to the Postponing of the patch...

The postponing announcement caused me to share that concern...

Very glad to hear that it isn't being postponed that long thankfully...

Doesn't change my level of concern however for the overall state of the game atleast till I see the Big Ticket Items getting some patch love.

I've been consistent throughout this entire thread...

    ...facts sir, facts

EDIT: Oh, and you mentioned perspective...

I think I have a pretty good perspective...

Yes my level of concern is growing, the news about the postponing def raised it to the "boiling point", and thankfully after it has subsided some hearing the patch is only postponed by 4 days.

However; I still made it very clear I love the game, haven't burnt myself out with the game, I'm seeing how some have said it becomes a grind eventually sure, but all in all I've had a great time playing it.

Excuse me for voicing a concern again, based on facts and what is an obvious real state of the game currently.

I don't think I'm out of perspective or being unreasonable at all with my concern.

    Facts sir, facts...

I didn't comment on your earlier posts. I can tell that you are concerned for the state of the game and the communication from the devs. You have a right to be concerned and it's wise to state your concerns here on the forums. I only commented on one thing you shared with us. Do YOU think it's healthy to raise your concern to the boiling point?
