The game isn't good enough to survive with any pay model. Console gamers are simply not used to mmos I guess because this game is dying a pretty fast death. It's so bad it's killing the company that made it!

And they called me crazy for making this thread: http://forums.defiance.com/showthrea...iance-Next-%29
I think they'll halt season pass content until they launch free to play. That way those season pass owners get something but the free to play non buyers have incentive to purchase content.

There is nothing "free" about Defiance. Your interpretation of "free" is beyond absurd to the point of you redefining the definition of words. We all bought the game in order to play it. Soon it will be truly free to play with far more players in-game playing that didn't pay a single cent to do so.

Not having a subscription does NOT mean it's free to play.
F2P would require no purchase whatsoever......not even purchasing the game client.
In this case you still have to purchase the client even though there is no subscription fee. This is called Buy to Play.
Just wanted to clear that up from some of the previous posts. The basic cost classes for MMOs are typically
-Free to Play (no client or sub fee)
-Buy to Play (client fee 1 time only, no sub fee)
-Subscription (sub fees, often has a 1 time client fee as well)
Since this was a buy to play......I don't really see it as going F2P.

The game is buy to play. Buy to play games rarely if ever go free even when struggling. Price may be reduced and I'm sure you can already get copies on sale, but there is nothing to go free from, its already free after the initial purchase.
L2read before you talk about other people's interpretation. I said it's free to PLAY, in that there is no sub fee, and you don't have to buy things from the store to be competitive like you would in other F2P games. It's NOT free to download, as clearly stated in my previous post had you bothered to INTERPRET it correctly.
This will never be f2p because you will not get it free on Xbox and PS. If it were a PC only game, maybe. But since it's not, you won't. If you're hoping it does, hope in one hand **** in the other and tell me which one fills up faster.

Sorry but that is called Buy to Play.
A game is only classed as free to play when it gets to the point where there isn't even a cost to download it anymore.
It's classification doesn't have anything to do with an in-game store.
As for the competitive part........you may be confusing things with what is informally called Pay 2 Win, which basically means you get crap equipment and only someone who buys good equipment from an in-game store can even stand against someone who already has equipment from there.
