Defiance Primary: Victim Platform: Xbox 360 - NA Current EGO: Gigantic
Alot of players don't want to even consider the possibility this game may not make it. Like everything else bias plays a large part. The only difference between me and alot of thoose who think everything is just fine is that a long time ago I realized that refusing to consider all possibilities in the hope the one you don't wan't doesn't turn out to be true doesn't make things better. it makes them worse because you won't be ready to deal with the reality of a situation until it is upon you and you can no longer deny it to yourself.
66 b/c it was reviewed by "pro" critics too early. this game has made huge improvements since its release.
those critics should have known better then to write those scores in stone. the people, as a whole, like this game. thats what matters in the end. its politics man! HELLO REAL WORLD!!

In server and client stability the game has made many improvements. In most other ares, not really. Case and point. My mass cannon which would be my primary weapon does not gain exp STILL over a month after release. What makes this worse is apparently the Hydra preorder bonus r/l is suffering the same bug. We have a boatload of issues just like that and there laying off staff before getting them sorted.
As for your point about it being reviewed too early. Well that's a really good argument for NOT releasing buggy software with extremely late cycle/short beta testing. Allmost all of those server issues could have been sorted before launch had the Beta tests been done sooner then they were and longer with better notice given for the dates so as to improve participation.
It just hit me how the topic of the week is going to be the mass firing inside the studio, and not about the game itself. Meh, they had it coming for avoiding communicating with the players and being so cryptic. If they said something like "hey, since the game was released, we're leaving the staff necessary to make patches and DLCs and other content, while we move the rest to other incoming games." See? I'd understand that. What I don't understand is the "hide all information and avoid communication" strategy.
Theres just one problem though. There not moving them to anything. There just canning them outright. One would think they could find holes to fill and not need many layoffs. The fact they can't is troubling for the studio as a whole.
There was a game called 10six like 12+ years ago. They disabled the longterm subscriptions in the store and gave no explanation. I called doom and gloom and got flamed down. a few weeks later the games end of service was announced and the "techs" admitted Sega had gagged them to max sales before it ended. Amazingly one of the techs somehow aqquired the rights and to this day runs the game as project visitor from a server rack in his house. Point is don't assume they can or will tell you anything. Unless they say point-blank there are no plans to shut it down then anything can happen.
