Massive Layoffs At Trion Today? Defiance Affected?

Of course it's false!!!

IGN hated this game since day one. The only time they EVER said anything about Defiance was when it was negative. Another snub they did to the game was on the IGN Xbox 360 app. Every time the commercial would play before loading up an IGN article the advertisement would freeze and lock up. That NEVER happened or HAS happened when I watch an ad on the app.

Even Major Nelson's blog and podcast snubs it by NEVER talking about it or listing it in most top played for the week. There is no way, and I mean NO WAY, this game did not ever crack the top 20 currently or at some point. More people play this than Forza 4 or Halo: Reach. Not saying there are anything wrong with those games, I enjoyed the heck out of them playing 200 hours on each easily. But more have to be playing Defiance.

It would not surprise me that Bungie is giving under the table money to keep IGN and Microsoft downing and keeping it in a negative light. So this way Destiny looks like the best things since sliced bread when released.

All the above is a shame because Defiance is fun and will only get better.

Delusional doesn't even come close to covering this one. Hate to tell ya, but making up a revisionist history doesn't change the current state of affairs, nor does it bend the world around you to your will.

In all honesty though, whoever they had at IGN covering Defiance does nothing but **** on it. Same goes for the TV show too. Go read the comments section over there, even people who don't like the game/show, recognize what's going on.

What about the countless other reviewers had rated the game well below a 7.0, are they in on it too, or is it hive mind type of thing?

See, that's actually not true at all. I've sat in on the gameplay sessions that Anthony (the reviewer at IGN) and K VanOrd (Gamespot) did independently. They both had public play sessions and had very frank and candid discussions about their experiences. What they ultimately wrote in their respective reviews were more than fair. They've even gone as far as to wish the projects well, and have defended it against the dismissals of their peers. The people in the comments have no objectivity about the reviews, and those that adopt their less than informed opinions are just as bad. Simply put, just because you and I or anyone else might like a product, that doesn't mean that it's still not a steaming pile.

There is a hive mind in games journalism. No doubt. But this is not a case for that. There's a bigger hive mind that is a far larger % of the problem, and it's the uninformed commentors leading the uninformed masses with rhetoric and conjecture.

Unfortunately even though I try not to agree to statements such as that.......I have to agree here.
It's simply an extremist viewpoint.
They've become obsessed with game for some reason.

If it was 100% false........I guess everything we've been hearing about layoffs and bugs is false as well.

It's not that bad yet. And if it did go f2p, it wouldn't mean that the dlc was doomed.
