What does this mean for gamers

I keep hearing people saying, they wanted this game to fail .. or "piper paid" because the game is crap, as in the thread about the layoffs

What games do you want? If you keep being this picky, Not sure if any game maker will make them anymore.

What is a good game.. WoW?? lol

According to the garbage some people keep buying into, they like the same thing over and over. Great example is Call of Duty.

Haven't bought a CoD game since Modern Warfare. (Call of Duty 4). I want games that are story driven, fun to play, have a social side and have customisable and/or upgradeable characters. I also like a sense of progression and online components that aren't tacked on.

Any two or three of these aspects in combination would please me.

Thing is, we're a vocal minority. Between the haters, fanboys, and people somewhere inbetween, we're a small percentage in the grand total of those who play said games. Let the numbers do the talking and we'll see how this goes. The show got approved for season 2, and maybe with the layoffs we'll see the devteam working even harder and taking this project far more seriously than they have before.

Time will tell. I say just ride it out. Let the naysayers and hopefuls say what they will. Nothing you argue against them will convince these people otherwise.

the same thing, with increasing numbers, and everything for free. also has to last forever, and be better than that next thing coming out soon
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

I want to make one thing clear: I enjoy this game.

That doesn't make me blind to all the things people have problems with. When I first bought the game on April 30th, it was stable. I play on the PS3. Lately I've been experiencing bad lag and glitches that make the game almost unplayable. I still have a good experience but there are certainly more reliable games to play.

A game I would want is a game similar to Final Fantasy XI. I played it for three years. I enjoyed the weather, day/night cycle, days, phases of the moon, having to fight Ifrit on Iceday. The game had an insane amount of depth and with the exception of maybe a month where ALL of us had connection issues when zoning, it was mostly reliable. I also really enjoyed DCUO for the combat. Being able to fly and whip barrles at people or even throw people at people was simply the bee's knees.

What I enjoy about this game over FFXI is that everything is immediate. Quests are immediate, co-ops are immediate, deathmatches are immediate. No running 20 minutes after waiting six hours only for the group to disband anyway. I also liked watching the shadows move on the ground. The combat is similar to DCUO with the exception I have a different style of super powers and I can't fly...

Up until the lay-offs I was fairly optimistic. I still am, its just a lot harder now. I was stupid and bought some skins. I'm not buying anything else until its clear what direction the game is in.

Honestly this could go either way depending on how people react on the one hand I am kind of worried but on the other I'm hoping it will fare a lot better than what happened during the A:CM mess. I will continue to play of course as I still enjoy the game the question is after this news just how many will continue to do the same?

considering that this is the first shooter i'v picked up since the days of AvP2 and MW2,3,4...i'd say they must have done something right in the beginning to drag me from sword and board games to this....i guess i'm in it till they scrap the servers...(just hoping they get their schtako together and deliver on what they envisoned.)
