    We deserve information, don't we?

As a paying customer...I say that because I paid extra for a Season Pass and was not allowed to get a refund.

Those of us deserve an open letter stating that Trion will be supporting Defiance throughout the Season Pass content that was promised...5 instalments of said Season Pass.

It is one thing to layoff employees, that happens in all businesses, but the customers should still be informed if they will have a game in the near and not too distant future, in other words till years end when said Season Pass content was promised.
The TV show while independent of the game has been renewed, they told us such, that means at least X amount of weeks shows.

It is my belief that we deserve the same consideration as to where the game stands and how long it stands.

Not a rant but a concerned customer.

Don't worry, the game will still exist. Just because they have layoffs doesn't mean they're going to pull the whole plug on the game, they DO still have staff at the San Diego branch (which is the branch that made Defiance) so they'll be maintaining the servers. It'll last a year and then it'll probably shut down.

You should recognize corporate rights to privacy during times of legal duress.

A press release on the same day of layoff's? That's PR suicide.

Pretty sure it will be more than a year since they are already doing season two content.

Don't sweat it, they will come and be awesome! and even if they completly fail... yadda yadda Im sure you will get some form of compensation. A free Trion game, or t-shirt or sealed duct tape box that says dont open live hellbugs inside written in crayon.

LOL I beg to differ. Shall I get the quoted post from Sledge?

EDIT: Added in the quote from Sledge in response to the person above.

Please be assured the Defiance team is still supporting the game, DLC and future Season 2 content. Myself, Myll_Erik and the rest of the community team will remain here to continue to support the Defiance community and work with our development team to continue to improve upon the game.

Yes some of our team members did get let go today, but the support for Defiance will remain moving forward.

Funny I didn't think buying the game made us shareholders in Trion....

A Simpsons quote comes to mind:
Homer: "With the economy the way it is you're lucky you get soup."

Doesn't give players much confidence when their flagship game goes free to play and a little while later, the layoffs and the admitting that some defiance team members were let go. They made sure to note that Rift wasn't affected by this so that means it hurt Defiance. Given their bang up job on delivering the transmedia experience and fixing things after they break them or fixing things that were broke since the testing period. They better have a good explanation ready to roll about this.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?
