How can I invite my friends?

Hello!
Whenever I try to invite my friends, the invite button is grayed out on the profile, does anyone know of any way I can get this to work? One of them lives in the same town as me, in Canada and the other person is in Europe, if that matters at all.

Press right on the d-pad > select friends > select whichever friend you want to invite to your group > then send invite. Then they will press right now the d-pad accept the invite > go to group > select you if you are the leader > select join leader. Then they should be put in the same world as you and appear as green dot on your map & mini-map.
