    Weapon Skills?

What is the total used to give you a new level? It can't be damage as then purple guns would actually be better to level with than whites are, so is it kills? shots? what?

All guns seem to have 2 levels of use in them, until they hit max. I guess they could track the total damage figure and just award you when you pass certain scores, regardless of level on current gun.

Its a mystery to me otherwise. If its shots then bmg's must have a higher figure for each level as they are firing constantly when on a target. If its kills, detonators and RL should level faster unless they have higher figures to achieve per level. Suppose each weapon type could have different thresholds.

I guess each kill could have a different weight attached to it meaning another scale is used to determine when you get a new level.

I find myself levelling weapon skills on high damage slow firing weapons. Seems to me it's dmg and the kill. I know I will level pistols way fast with a Magnum versus a Tacc.

One of my friends basically stated the lower the tier the more experience you will get out of the weapon. I haven't actually tested it myself but I think he has. So pretty much white to green tier would be better as the he stated the purple and higher would level the weapon itself too fast or so?

as already knowen ingame all weps have an xp bar, this fills up then you no longer gain skill, the skill you earn is equivelant to the damage you deal, but for the skills each level will require more xp than the last, starting small like 10,000 then 100,000 then maybe 1,000,000 i dont know the actual figures for each level for the weps but i know a hulker at any level is good for fast lvling if you have enough guns due to there high hp and low defence, if you dont want to sit farming hulkers to level a wep fast then i would say do helibots, they are uncharted goldmines for skill xp if you know where to find lots of them

Another good spot to level guns is to farm verdant ridge, by that I mean (please dont fix this trion) let the raiders drop the three generators (you may need to stand on the one at the top of the ladder near the water tower), then let the shoostings comence. The guys at the bottom of the hill keep respawning, and since your thrown into a seperate phase, no-one can come in and fix the gennys. The other place is the hulker boss at san quentin, simply decoy through the end gate when the ego device says "hes not going to stop" run along and jump in the sea. Let him get up, then shoosting commence again Oh and weapon levels are gained by damage only, and Pamoth is 100% correct, once a gun is individually leveled, dump it and pick another one, since they stop giving the class xp once leveled up. I only keep the best of the best after they are fully leveled. Always remember to see what the individual guns booster is for leveling it up (under the xp bar once a gun is leveled).

I don't like how major arkfalls use up weapon bars but don't reward weapon exp, but anyway.

I have been using white/green infectors last 2 days, they seem to give same amount of levels, they are just much cheaper than purples so better value for money (especially if found on the ground at arkfalls).

I know a crater with seemingly endless spawning hell bugs, so maybe I go there a few times.

I only keep orange weapons, for sentimental reasons. I still use maxed VOT Fragger (orange) & FRC SAW (Purple) combo as they are still useful on Arkfalls (the one place weapon exp doesnt matter).

Yes, I tricked you myst, its not too hard

Funny story. I actually newbed it when I first started. Used a purple repeater for what must of been 5 levels of sniper exp. Ah man launch play issues!~

i just wish i had a stash, got 60 item slots after every wep i use i need to dismantle but the hulker just keeps dropping more :/
what the game needs (hint hint trion) is a personal warehouse/storage box but i wouldnt have so much salvage if i kept the junk would i, 900,000 salvage, lets hope the dlc gives me a reason to use it on those lightsabres ^^

first time using a weapon in a class for the first time puts you to approx lvl 3 if you cap the wep after that you do around 120% of levels with a single gun but by skill level 15~19 you might need 3 or 4 guns to full cap before reaching 20

approx averages due to not having any weps below 15 (except rockets) and only paying minor attention to wep lvling

Weapon experience is entirely damage based. Weapons have a maximum amount of experience they can give before they stop rewarding it at which point they gain a new modifier. This cap is determined by the ego rating on the gun. As a result, saying it will take X number of guns to reach Y level will be subjective. Parts of arkfalls do not reward weapon experience. Nobody to my knowledge has mapped out how much experience it takes to get to each level for each gun, but it is the same across all weapon types (so good luck with BGMs).
