Running out of ammo!!!!!

Question, Why is it that when one of my weapons runs out of ammo, they all run out of ammo??? It does not matter what the weapon is once it gone, its gone for all of them... What's the deal of having 4 different set ups if they all run out of ammo at the same time?? Is this something that can be fixed quickly or is it a bigger problem that will take longer to fix, either way it needs to be fixed... This does not happen in the real world and should not happen in game.. Thanks.. Oh by the way I play on a PS3....

It's not a bug sorry to say. Some weapons share the same ammo type. Sucks.

assault rifle, lmg, and smg share that ammo type

Because weapons of certain types share ammo pools...

And AR on one build will still eat into the pile of bullets you have for another AR on another build...
if I remember correctly, some different classes of weapon share ammo pools too... IIRC, SMG's and AR's do for example...

Semi Auto's and Bolt Action share the same ammo... I don't think they share with anything else though.

Semi Auto's tend to gobble up ammo though, due to them often needing more than one shot to kill

there is a perk which makes drop 3x times more ammo , use it or getter better damage+accuracy
