However condescending your tone is, I am inclined to agree with you, but for a different reason. Each of those games were developed by different teams, and as far as I know, coding knowledge isn't osmotic even if you do work for the same company as your predecessors. What you seem to be missing, however, is that typically, project management is handled by (usually) the same people, and so if a game is having the same issues as an earlier release by the same developer/in-house publisher such as SOE, it is a failure by management and department leads. Repeating the same mistakes each time a new IP is released suggests lax Q&A and management, plain and simple.

Nobody expected it to be bug free at launch.
That's expected.....even though it really shouldn't need to be.
However, it's been shown that the major bugs were found and reported back early in the beta (I think in the alpha as well) but weren't fixed and was still released.
The handling of things from there was a major factor. They kept bringing out broken patches.

That's what many people are complaining about.
Not that the bugs were there.......but more the fact of the bugs being introduced with patches.

Of course I also don't see any reason to compare an MMOTPS with an MMORPG but that's just me personally.

But most importantly is the fact that every game has launch issues........but they should be learning from their, and other mistakes.

I think I'm drifting off topic here so I'll drop it at that.

And why do I constantly see people just try to go down to insults to try and press their point....

I agree absolutley since the launch of this game don't even come close to the launches of these 10 games.
    1. Anarchy Online
    2. World of Warcraft
    3. Vanguard
    4. All Points Bulletin
    5. Final Fantasy XIV
    6. Star Wars Galaxies
    7. Age of Conan
    8. World War II Online
    9. Allods Online
    10. Aion
Now compared to those games the Defiance launch was as smooth as silk.
All of these games listed had infinitely more content at launch than Defiance.

    Just saying.

All of these games (maybe except WW II Online and Allods Online, which I don´t know) are role playing games, no shooter.

    Just saying.

A novel mechanic (shooter) does not counter the overwhelming disparity of content.

And the fun part is, we still get more serious bugs in EQ2 nine years later than we have in Defiance (PC) at the start. Even full-blown client crashes continue in EQ2. They're fairly rare, but they still happen. Whereas I have yet to experience a single client crash or game lockup when playing Defiance. There are other things I might change about the game, but its stability, reliability, and connectivity have been rock-solid for me since day 1, which is unusual for a new online-only game, in my experience.

I guarantee you that every single game listed there has far more complex projectile based combat and mechanics than anything in Defiance and that is all defiance has, projectiles. When you remove standard features and complex system such as anything involving a web domain showing in-game account information such as the Warcraft Armory or simply auction halls it makes you wonder where exactly is the game. Defiance is so much more simplistic in comparison the little that is available should work correctly.
Currently playing: Warframe, Battlefield 3, Hawken, Rift.

So this is the life story of yours. I feel sorry for you but my experience is different. When I first heard about this game it sounded exciting to me and it was. I think defiance is a winner and like all winners, you are gonna get your moaners

Its all cool, perhaps I will see you in another site where we can hear you once again.

BS indeed, the game that is. Short and to the point eh? Defiance tops the failed game of the year award list.

This game isn't even close to the failed game of the year award. That would go to the newest Aliens game.
