I would suggest they take a good hard look at the text chat option as you said for one. In an MMO for the PC the current implementation is simply unforgivable. The chat fades to quickly and there seems to be no way to adjust it, it's nearly impossible to have any sort of conversation in general, there are no customization options for text color or size, no private channels, and no way to adjust the text box opacity. And that's a shame given how robust and versatile RIFT's UI system as a whole was at launch.
Grant it, this is a shooter and doesn't need quite as much, but a flexible chat system is a basic PC UI feature that "needs" to be in by launch. The current version wreaks of a console port with little to no thought for PC players.
Another thing is that control key mappings are still not saving properly. Once you log off, many of them tend to reset back to their default key, which tends to be rather frustrating. Again, not that big a deal for consoles but a "must fix" for PC.
So there's a good place to start.
