Personally, I could care less if we get any more info from Trion on the layoffs, for several reasons. One, this isn't the first MMO that's laid people off and/or shuffled people to other projects after a game has been released; it's almost standard operating procedure in the industry anymore. Two, they are under no obligation to tell us anything; we're not shareholders or own part of the company. And three, it's not like we could do anything with 'secret insider knowledge' or anything.

Yes, you pre-bought five DLC packs, sight-unseen, without knowing what they would be or when they would be delivered. We might get all five next week, or it might be a year before the first one comes out; there's no guarantee on what it will be or when it will be. Again, no real guarantee of X; like any pre-order, you took a gamble, and really have no leg to stand on (IMHO) if it turns out not to be what you were hoping for.

please im far beyond hoping for or having a standard with this game however the dlc are promised before the year's close their is a guarantee of x, their was a guarantee of x even for the people who did buy the season pass and trion has even said this the fact that you continue to even argue tell me you are either blind, incompetent, or feel a need to protect trion like they're your first-born child, maybe all three

actually on a note you might be right trion sold us a car with no engine, and told us to wait they should have one soon

Trion hasn't commented because there is no need for them to. They will not, (nor do they need to) explain how business in the digital entertainment industry works to you. You have the correct information available to you, layoffs of launch teams is as common as a fat american, its just normal, nothing more, nothing less; YOU choosing to reject this does not make it any less true. They launched defiance, successfully, and are shifting focus from their successful game to their not so successful as of late game, Rift, during a critical and volatile time. The launch of F2P will make or break the game for good; and with the mass amount of changes looming for it, they need larger team.

Why on earth do you think any company would have 50 people with nothing to do just 'hang around'?

I bet all these knee jerk fools still watch for terror alert orange.....

So far I think Trion is the best company to promote games, getting content and info to players in a timely matter...... last on list. Honestly, ark keycodes were good, trailers good, show is ok, across the badlands is ok, game updates are horrible, giving info to players is non-existant.

    C'ON!!!!

Why are fanboys bashing on people who are complaining about the service? I played since first beta and i've put up with a lot, and the first time I even voiced my disapproval was a month after game launch. The game is literally in worse shape than it was IN the beta, more bugs and glitches.

you know they make games for people who have real life and dont need every week new DLC or missions or events or updates. this game is TPS .. how many DLC has BF3 during 2 years? ...5DLC and some patches. this game has some problems but it will be fine and it is fine in the many parts. LAter or sooner haters and trolls leave this game and community will be clear and nice

and believe me they will come back and play this game after each TV show episode or update or DLC

So after more people leaves(the haters and trolls), Trion will be much better for it????

    Logic has left you son.
Careful, you might loose this fight, Anne Frankly why does everybody have to bring up the Nazis?

    As quoted by Justin CarMicheal

That's the thing-- they have the right philosophy, but they implemented it so poorly players can't see it. So they ask for other genres to get copy/pasted over.

I hope the best ppl from Rift has been moved to the defiance project as a result. If so, keep in mind there will be a learning curve for those brought over from Rift.

We DO need honest updates as to what is going on.
Um, if you have paid attention to any of the news about it, you'd know that Rift's team hasn't taken any cuts from this.

From what I've read, and based on how similar it is to December's layoffs, here's probably what happened:

    1. The Defiance team had a ton of people on board to help push the game out the doors
    2. Defiance has been out the doors for over a month now.
    3. They cut out the extra people deemed not essential to the team in order to save costs and have a smaller core team working on content and fixes and whatnot.

This is basically what happened a month after Storm Legion released, too. Trion seems to have a strange strategy lately with hiring a bunch of extra people to get the game up/running and then laying them off a month or so after a product is released. Seems like a good strategy costs-wise, but... to the individuals affected that's not fun whatsoever.
