I've had an Xbox since the original console (though I'm a huge MMO wh*re, so I got PS2 just for EQOA and FFXI). I'm excited about the announcement. That said, I'm not a fanboy. I'm gonna do that crazy thing where I look at the new consoles, compare hardware, network, games, etc. and then decide which one suits me better. It's a mind-blowing concept for some people.

Ah yes, good selections, and there is the classic: "I have a cold and I am going to constantly cough, sneeze and sniffle on the mic. This way everyone on my team can be distracted and disgusted at the same time. Oooh, and every ten minutes I'll make ahorrible snorting sound that one can only assume is a copius amount of flem trying to escape from one of my orifaces only to be immediatly sucked back in"

    Yeck!

My favorite though, is the fight with mom/gf/wife while leaving the mic on. "Five more minutes!"
    I can't tell if I'm a cynic or a realist.

X-BOX 1 is what they call it... not a fan. Just saying it makes me think of the first x-box released, not the brand new shiny thing of 2013.

Well it looks like a brick (which I like!), but it sounds like its gonna work pretty well. I watched 2 hours of the 'live feed' (the pre-recorded 2 DAYS of feed, there is only a live discussion) only to hear that the full spec was being saved for E3 June 11-13... so not sure what the point of this event was. Mostly drawn out generic face guff of 'new technology, we am the bestist'.

This isn't now a hate thread, but I'm ONLY interested in gaming, that's what my console is for. This multi-tasking ability. 'Play games, watch movies, shop online and MORE!'. I'm never gonna do more than 1 of these things at any 1 time. I have no need to play Peggle with a little section of my hud lost because I feel the need to watch the Power Rangers!

Most of the presentation was about the new Kinect camera, which I'm not interested in really. I can now look forward to powering on my xbox with out need of a controller, just wave at the screen... so when I'm rushing around for work, my xbox is gonna have a fit turning itself on and off every time I come into view of the camera! I can see me putting a book infront of it when I'm not actually playing on the thing!

So all in all... non the wiser, unfortunately. I believe the open discussion is on for another day, but its only about the details they've released so far, that's nothing about gaming. As I said, my xbox is for gaming. I have a phone to talk to people and a front door to go shopping. I imagine some videos of game play will be leaking out over the next 3 weeks to E3, then I'll start getting all excited again!

Also the price is still a mystery. Unconfirmed amounts averaging the £400 (English pounds for all you international types) which gets you the box, camera and a controller.

/edit. Won't be using this thread anymore, mostly because the title is '720' when it isn't. There are already numerous other threads for discussion.

Make that two of us. I won't be making the same mistake for the third time.

I'm going with PS4 now. The Xbox "One" looks more like a multimedia PC than a gaming console now. The pay walls on used games is just the nail in the coffin for me.

So now this is 100% confirmed? That's news to me. Source?
