Now that players have so many external resources, they dont have to think as much, and how do you make a difficult game for people who have been trained not to think?

Am I going to spend 40 hours finding data records, or am I going to hop over to google and spend 2 hours driving around? But, the real question is, if I am a game dev, how am I going to make content that cannot be googled in 3 seconds? Perhaps I could add data recorders to static emergencies (barns, mines) and make them RNG Based. Perhaps I can have data recorder locations be unique for every player.

Also, you took a sample size of 6 for your illustration, I can find 6 people out there who are doing 6 lets plays and make a thread

I took the first image available to me. Besides that, you missed the point. I'm not talking about collectables, I'm talking simple mechanics that shouldn't need explaining(or were explained in the tutorial area) Most of this isn't directed at the Defiance community

Oh, and because many won't check the linked thread I take...

Here's a nice watch for everyone old enough to remember: If Quake was done today

It basically sums up everything that's wrong with today's gaming.

EGO Do they have any good parts? I could use an upgrade.

And that is a fault of the Devs, sadly.

In balanced games, pvp is where the trial and error comes in. I love pvp and so do many players. You can't look up how to pvp in a book. You can take a strategy and adopt it (e.g. cloak/shotgun) but there will always be these amazing players and you may have no idea what they are doing or how they are doing it, but you use the same weapons/perks as them and still they kill you every time and out perform you every game. They are using trial and error and they didn't look up their strats in books. Good pvp players rarely divulge what makes them good either. There are no good pvp guides for any pvp mmos. The ones that exist teach you to not die all the time and sort of help out your team, but they never teach you to be a great pvper because you can't be unless you figure it out for yourself.

Yeah, I preferred the OLD texture for them. They stuck out, but not completely noticeable.

Gamers today don't know as they're born.

I tell you, when I was a young gamer, we had to solve our problems ourselves without t'Internet.

Ha! You think that's bad, I used t'have 't solve my problems, on my own, while fifteen strapping lads with canes beat me until I were black and blue.

HA! I used t'have 't solve me problems, on me own, underwater without a snorkel, while an entire PLATOON of sharpshooters fired at me with anti-tank rifles. And if I failed... If I failed... I'd have been cast out into the freezing snow without supper!

Aye, but if you tell young gamers that they won't believe you...
