Something I find funny.......the SNES in my closet still works, but my PS2 next to my TV doesn't (the wuss thing burnt out months ago........even though it was used much less than my SNES).

This whole thread has been trolling and complaining, the only difference was, until now, the 8 people posting here agreed with you. I however do not. You people have done nothing but talk down on modern gamers, or as you refer to them as squeakers. "Oh people are lazy" or "All they can do is whine and never figure anything out for themselves". This whole thread has been demeaning to anyone who doesnt enjoy sitting around for 10hrs a day figuring out nonsense mechanics that are only there to drive people crazy in the first place.

I mean seriously, how long did you figure you were going to continue with this post before some one called you out for what you are... a bully. You figure something out on a game then lord it over people like a 10yr old chanting "Nayh nayh I know something you dont know!" Then you have the audacity to complain about it when people just circumvent you and go figure it out for themselves by using information instead of just smashing through it like a barbarian. Get your head out of the clouds.

You'd best be careful with that stuff. It'll be dark soon, and you'll be likely to be eaten by a grue.

Good play. Pass down the legacy.
Ever since the term "Retro Revolution", I haven't been able to forget it.
If possible that's one of the things I wanna do for my nephew some day.

Man....right now.......if I owned a Game Center or Arcade (not a game store for people who don't know)........I'd start a Retro game display competition.
Show the kids the power of old school.
Bring on the original Megaman, the original Metroid, the original Zelda, and have them try Duck Hunt.

Actually, in a weird way, I think making game developers lower down the difficulty has led them to focusing more on story and character development. Before you could just make your game hard and didn't really have to put much thought into anything like story or characters. Then, as technology got better, more people used the internet; and then games started getting easier. That means they can't pad their games length with pure difficulty anymore. This forces them to focus on making more content, which leads to better, longer stories and more fleshed out characters. For me, that's a good thing. I'd rather play a somewhat easy game with great characters and a great story, then a hard game with no characters and no story.
