Or didnt have cable and got like 3 or 4 channels on your tv. And dads remote was hey son change the channel. lol so you got up turned the tune dial and adjusted the antanea untill it came in..

I remember those days. and even with all the techno advances we have made theres lots of times i have to wonder if it isnt a bad thing.

Holy crap, I never thought I'd ever say this, but this thread is actually making me (almost) nostalgic for my old TRS-80!

Not to mention, of course, the Intellivision. The back-then Macintosh of its genre, if you would.

I would be happy to have Coke-a-cola back... the REAL one before they tampered with it.

Yeah......but those weren't advancements from the past 2-5 years.
Those kind of advancements are definitely good. It's the ones where the brand new top equipment you bought 1 year, or even just 6-10 months, ago are now obsolete that are the worst.
Consoles don't suffer as much as PCs but it does mean they get more and more expensive.

How popular would WoW be if you had to pedal an exercise bike to power the game ?

You know I was trying to figure out how to set up a treadmill to use when playing LOTRO, thought I would walk when I or the horse would have to - but never could get a setup right. I WISH they made games like that, I had hopes for the wii and then Xbox and PS3 but they all are still clunky.
