    Can we talk patience?

I have been here the majority of the time on hold to Turbine (lol another gaming company) with accounting... After 25 minutes I think it's time to hang up.

    NOW I get a cookie!

Every part of the telephone was sturdy or heavy enough to be used as a lethal weapon. The only thing 'wireless' was the garage door opener. Pong was awesome. I literally wept with joy getting my first Atari 2600 at Christmas.

Now... we watch whatever we want from DirecTV's massive smorgasbord, any time we want via HD DVR, on an embarassingly large and gorgeous plasma screen with home theater sound. Or watch Blu-Rays on it, or play 360 and PS3 games on it. Or play games on a ridiculously powerful gaming PC that would have blown NASA's collective minds not so long ago. Or use a handheld or tablet or phone, the magic of which would either have gotten you burned as a witch, or worshipped as a god, in the past.

IMO, it's not a bad thing.

Oh yes the old days. Like when just as you were going to beat the OP high score in pacman, he would bump into you. Hitting the wrong direction keys would get you locked into a corner. If you did kill not the boss monster in a rpg the correct way, minor gruge monsters would spawn repeatly until you died. Buying the pattern book for Ms pacman. Having that special highlighter to get the hints from the hints book. Only $4.95 + shipping from the developer. Missing the broken glass piece 10 screens ago means you can't get pass the trap on this screen.
    Older and Slower than you.

    Ah......
Back when people would actually try to fix things before replacing them.

Parents learn to teach children that. It helps encourage comprehensive though.
Crap......when I use to teach people things these were my basic rules:
    1.) Screw theoretical
    2.) Practical is.....alright usually
    3.) Comprehensive is all-powerful

I also taught them safety measures from experience........"if you're gonna experiment, keep a med kit nearby for when you have to dig shards out of your shoulder or perform treatment for a heat sear."

And don't misunderstand, I was never a teacher but I would still teach some people as needed.

I know people (men generally) that don't own tools... I fainted. I have every tool there is (living up to the stereotype) but a screwdriver gets a blank look from people they think its a drink.
